Installing vent fan in shower of 2005 classic

On a trip to NH earlier this month we stopped in the Airstream dealer in VA. On the lot was a 2017 classic and we took a look.

I noticed in the shower a cool vent fan, that also allowed light to come in the dark shower area.

the one I was looking at
https://www.etrailer.com/RV-Vents-an.../VP-543SP.html

and here
http://odmrv.com/catalog/index.php?m...roducts_id=385

So,, how thick is the space between top of shower stall and roof?? The supplied trim will do from up to 2 3/4" and they have the add on section.

If i remember from doing the skylight from interior to exterior surface it about 2ish inches so ??

I did try to replace the light in the shower and noted it below the interior skin but i did not measure and unit is not at the house for now.

I will have to cut a 6.5" hole in roof metal, through interior skin metal and through fiberglass and miss the roof support.

Sounds like fun!!??.. any advise that makes sense ??

OK, here is a reply for you. I have one of these in my 2006 Safari 25 FB. I was surprised that you don't have one in your 2005. Yes, it is a nice addition as we can vent the moisture out of the coach, especially when it is cold outside.

But......I don't think mine lets in any appreciable amount of light. It has a dark lid on the top as is shown in your links.

thanks for the reply.. yes i was suprized to see it was not on the 2005 classic not sure why not..

I do believe there is a light color you can get that does let a bit more light in. heck in the shower now with the light off and door closed its like a cave so a little bit of light would be welcome but more so the ability to vent moisture.

I have seen a couple utubes were there installed in vans campers and the folks sorta complained about the amount of light that comes in them.. some are mounted above the sleeping area so there is a big difference in how much light is to much.

again thanks for your reply and comments. now back to regular programing.
