T Marco's thread is going down the toilet! Your Safari and my Trade Wind are 1966 sisters. My toilet was not working, it was rusted shut. God, what a contraption! I hear people rebuild them.

I purchased a toilet grommet from Inca Plastics. It's the big one on the right. It provides the seal between the tank and the down pipe, and the down pipe OD. Then the new toilet is bolted to the subfloor with a standard toilet mount.

Knowing Marco, he will probably find some space age john for his trailer. Probably will involve microwaves, 4G LTE networks and no water. I can't wait to see it.

David, you may be a little disappointed in what I went with, but I promise you I started out with my sights set super high with crazy incinerating toilets. But in the end, that approach just didn't make sense.

Are you going to run the brake electric wiring under/outside belly pan?

I'm running the brake wires up into/under the kitchen cabinets, and then into the walls. If there is ever a problem, I'll just cut those wires off and leave them in the walls, and re-run new wires under the trailer.

Those aluminum banana wraps are a challenging part to make. Compound curves. I'm not too sure where to start if I had to form one on an English wheel. But there are metal workers who can. Amazing.

Tap, tap, tap carefully and I'll bet they turn out pretty good.

I wonder what year the banana wraps went to a molded plastic part? The plastic ones don't dent, they just break. And they are less cost.

Look at that California sunshine! Here: snow, wind and 0 degrees. My dog won't even go out in it. New England, much worse. Winters are not fun.

Your wheelhouse came finally. Were they molded? I don't think I've ever seen one like that. Interesting.

Buy a keg and get the guys to carefully place the shell back on.

Just made this piece out of aluminum instead of steel to prevent another corrosive reaction like the one you are seeing up above on the skin

Great work. Those wheel wells look pretty nice. Q How much clearance do you have there above the fat tires? For my still to take life project I'm thinking 6" is the minimum above the rubber with the Timbrens.

I am making boxes to extend the clearance of the wheel wells to 5.5 inches above the tires. From the looks of it, those timbrens will only travel about 3 inches. Inca didn't have anything for a single axle that would be tall enough so this is the best I could come up with.

Good solution

That's a neat idea. When I asked timbren about travel distance they suggested allowing 3" over the full load dimension so you are probably right on the money. I decided I was over analyzing my well needs and just put them in for duplication albeit out of a heavier gauge sheet

I'm still loving the deep dish chrome rims :-)

I started a new thread which only got one response, so figured I'd ask my good buddies over here:

For those of you that stay at RV parks, where would you recommend placing my cable tv input and power input on the trailer? Thanks!

Cable TV? What's that? I have found fewer and fewer RV parks have cable TV available anymore. Folks bring there own antenna. Satellites!

Hook ups are generally available on the street side, usually toward the rear of the trailer. Water and sewer connections are mostly located toward the rear street side.

That's where I located my "utilities" connection points on my Trade Wind project. I carry roughly 20 feet of cord, hose, and sewer hose so I can reach hook ups that don't follow the typical convention.

In my Bambi II, I moved the battery inside & used a AGM battery (which doesn't have to be vented). I used the area that used to hold the battery for my electric input as well as a cable input. I've used it more than once in campgrounds & am very happy with how it works out. You can see it here:

Our Cable and Telephone connections are inside the AC umbilical utility tray.

Our AS came with cable TV input on the street side right next to the shore power inlet.

Thanks guys! I knew I could count on you! I'm going to repurpose these holes on the rear street side that were originally for the water heater
