Will do! Although I don't have much experience towing it with the original setup. I'm definitely going to try some crazy driving with it before i slide it back under the shell- and then try more crazy stuff with the shell on before i do the interior.

It's fun to suggest jobs for others! I feel like a boss! But not!

You might want to check your axles alignment. Measure from the very front, center of your ball to the center of each spindle. You would expect less than 1/8" difference from left to right side. I used 18 ga automotive wire as it doesn't stretch and I can pull it tight.

You don't want your new frame following the tow vehicle at a 45 degree angle!

Thanks for the tip on the wire! First I tried string, which was useless- stretched way too much. I ended up getting 2 friends together and did it with measuring tape, the big metal roll kind that has the crank, and by some miracle it was almost exactly the same. The spindles can be adjusted a little too, which I was expecting to have to do, but nope, they were perfect.

Don't worry, I have something better picked out (for the rims), plus these axles are for highway tires, not trailer tires, so I can get something better than the stuff offered for trailers.

Does anyone know where to get the bolts to put the bumper back on? I had to chop mine off. It was nice how they sunk flush into the bumper.

Good hardware stores carry a similar bolt in Grade 8 or better. But you may have to grind down the diameter of the head a bit for a perfect fit.

New wheels/tires! The new axles don't come out as far, so I went wider on the tires. Hopefully you guys don't know something that I don't about wide tires on a trailer! These are p275/60r15 highway tires since my axles are made for highway tires.
I'm remaking my wheel wells so the size isn't going to effect that.

In case anyone was planning on welding together their own stainless steel gray water tank with minimal welding experience.... Don't.

Problem 1: it's gonna weigh a ton.

Problem 2: you are gonna spend a fortune in shielding gas.

Problem 3: the metal isn't cheap either.

Problem 4: getting a weld water tight isn't as easy as you would think.

Problem 5: as you are welding the thin metal, the heat warps it a lot. It's extremely hard to get anything straight/square.

Problem 6: it's gonna take forever.

Problem 7: it's gonna look ugly, at least mine was looking pretty horrendous.

Don't do it.

That little square you see taking shape there, I "finished" that. Made the edges out of angle and welded some sheet metal in it. Cost about $50 in gas. Keep in mind though that I had to keep re-doing it. So probably $20 in gas.

So stay tuned for the pictures of my new plastic gray water tank!

I tried replacing the shower pan. Please help.

Those big tires are a great addition IMO.

Hi Marco, glad you decided to go with a plastic fresh water tank. Some folks "weld" their tanks from ABS plastic sheets. A molded tank has less chance of leaking. Stainless is challenging to weld, and is an expensive material.

Yeah, I ended up hiring www.hofarc.com to design a holding tank system for me (basically I just want them to give me a list of tank model numbers and where to get them) and they have been dragging their feet.
I figured they had probably done this a million times and this would take them 30 minutes to figure out considering I provided them with detailed 3d models and measurements etc.
We're at 3 weeks and counting....

Hi T Marco,

You can buy RV tanks already made that will fit almost anywhere. I used Inca Plastics right there in your home state. They've been molding RV tanks for years and years. They have a ton of shapes and sizes. I studied their catalog until I found a tank with the right height, width, and lenght to fit my frame bay where I needed to mount the tanks. Inca has the neatest grommets to seal your drain pipes, toilet pipe, and vent pipes. I selected a tank design with mounting shoulders so I could hang the tanks from my frame rails and snug them up to the sub floor. These tanks also came with the 3" dump valve connections for plumbing the drain manifold. There are other places to get tanks. I recommend you contact Inca and see what they can do for you.
