Quite the situation you've gotten into Marco. I'll be following this thread's progress w/interest. We're living full time in our '79 AS & the challenge will be how to renovate it WHILE living in it. We definitely have a few of the same problems as your GT, but if/when we start deconstruction, this Virgo will proceed very slow & methodically. And I'm all about the pix!!
G'luck w/yours

Oh gosh, if you have to do a shell-off like I did, or any other the jobs I did I honestly can't see any way whatsoever to live in it during construction. Everything is so interconnected, compartmentalizing your jobs would be impossible. Might I suggest setting up a tent outside the trailer?

Anytime you take items out that will be used again, you need to get pictures and mark what and where an item goes. If your plan is to start fresh then don't worry what condition things are as you remove them. Good luck...

This is very similar to the design I have floating around in my head....have a few questions for you:

1. Do you have a layout pictureso I can see where you fit the full shower?
2. How did you attached the wood panelling?
3. How did you attach the darker trim to the end cap panelling?

THanks!

I got quite a laugh out of the original post in this thread. Especially with the 2am time stamp. How many times have I been in this situation?! :-D

Kidjedi, I aim to please lol.

And at this rate I will never finish. I keep accepting real world jobs that are keeping me from finishing the airstream. I need to get my priorities straight and tell everyone to leave me alone.

Somehow I can feel the pain!

Maybe because I'm 3 years deep into mine. Some times I get that " f yeah this thing is gonna get done" feeling, it's only brief because it's quickly pushed aside by the "crap I still gotta.....(insert list of 10000 things to get done here)" feeling.

This summer it has hit me a few times when I've completed something that I've been TOTALLY DREADING that when I get it done I think, s& that was not really bad and thank god it's done.

Wow this thing figured out what the s followed by 3 characters meant when I posted it and put in a frowny face for me all by itself. Put a little smiley on my face. Gotta take the little things to keep positive and moving on!
Hope I'm not in trouble with the moderators!

Lol, I'm glad we have this little club of folks that can feel our pain. No idea where I'd be with this project if I thought I was the only one suffering out there. Thanks everyone. Thanks for taking on difficult projects and crying with me all the way to completion.

Completion? What is this "completion" you speak of?
