Hey Airstreamers

Have been stalking the forum for a while an haven't posted yet so I thought I'd say hi and introduce myself. My wife and I are living full time in our 78 ambassador. We are 25 and 27 and this is our first airstream. It was a childhood dream of mine that I talked her into. We love it but we have lots of questions. My original plan was to buy it, and restore it myself but I second guessed myself and took it to the "pros" 21 grand later everything still functions like it did when I pulled it out of the swamp. So back to the DIY. Full Monty while inhabited. And darnit I'm broke.

Fantastic. I have to remove all of my carpentry, replace my subfloors, re plumb the bugger and figure out where these gremlins are in my 12 volt system. Think I need to re weld the rear frame.

Sorry to hear about the bad experience with a "pro". Hang in there and don't hesitate to ask anything. As you can see from these forums, any problem can be overcome with a little guidance.

Well I am not saying I know a lot, but I am learning a lot along the way. I am trying to touch on our Full Monty and the details on my site - The Airstream Diary, and perhaps some of your mysteries can be solved by my exploits. Help from others is key.
