Bamboo Flooring

I am sorry if I have missed this, but I have a question about bamboo flooring for our 22 Argosy. I was planning to staple/nail down bamboo flooring to the plywood structural flooring. Is this a reasonable strategy, or must I float the floor? Thanks so very much.

I wouldn't do it...

Unlike your floor at home, which stays at a 'even' temperature, the floor in your AS may be subjected to large swings in temperature - and as such will expand and contract to a much greater degree...

Nailing the overlaid flooring to the sub floor may then cause it to buckle or crack, etc...I believe bamboo may actually be more susceptible than some other woods...

I laid our snap-to-gather flooring in a length-wise pattern and let it 'float'...I used 1/4 round molding glued to the walls, cabinets, etc., allowing the floor to float underneath - It's been 'down' for two years and is still working great!
