'76 Excella 500 Renovation

Hello,

I have gutted a 31' 1976 Excella 500 to the interior (vinyl sheeting) walls. It is worse than I though underneath and now I want to go down to the Aluminum skin. Is that recommended? What is the process? Is there anything I should avoid? My goal is to create an "open room" to be used as a guest (bed) room as our bungalow gets too cramped! It will be permanently parked with a deck around it.

My intention was to put in hardwood floors and wood veneered walls- with a few built in spots for storage. Then furnish it with antiques like another room. Is there anything I need to avoid?? Anything I should be aware of or any tips anyone can offer??? I would appreciate it as this is a learning work in progress. I will post photos of the work as we go.

Sounds like a WAY COOL project. Use the search button ( upper right) to check out specific problems related to your year trailer. It will yield a bounty dis-similar to any other web site you have ever searched! You will likely go googly-eyed from all the reading!

Also, your other 'out-of-the-box' decocorating/ space ideas sound like something that will tickle a few 'creative bones' in this AS community. Keep posting in the appropriate forums and you will likely get more than you ever hoped for!
