Lift Off

Thought I'd send off some shots of our lift off that took place last month. First time I've posted photos so we'll see how it goes. The frame has been sandblasted and is getting a little modification before paint. It's in surprisingly good condition. Only the tops of three outriggers have rust and only one of them rusted through. We'll be adding fresh water and grey water tanks for the kitchen sink and then it's ready to start building back up.

BIG job! Looks like you are well down the path and it's nice to know the frame is as solid as it is - any time you can minimize the repairs and thus time and costs it's bonus. My friend is doing a '46 Curtis Wright and has it now back on the frame, new floor in place, has replaced some damaged siding and eliminated a bit of window down the street side. I know from speaking with him that it's been a lot of work, thought, rethought, and more work but the results will be exceptional. He acquired a totalled 2004 for all the appliances, etc. so it will be a neat unit. What are your plans for the interior - original or retro or fully modern? Keep us updated with pics - we all love the pictures.

We didn't have much of the interior when we bought it. The ie box/sink and wardrobe were all that was left of the original interior. Someone had made a makeshift bathroom in the back and that's where most of the frame rot was. It was set up for a park with no tanks. We're going to keep the exterior as original as possible and make the interior modern. It won't be a museum piece as we plan to use it as much as possible. More pics to follow now that I know how ro post them.
