The Liner is completely stripped on the inside! All panels have been cleaned and are now in storage until the reinstall. Over the next week I'm going to seal up some things on the roof, remove more windows and eye brows and probably power wash the interior. I'm hoping for lift off in a couple of weeks!

How do I get a 1953 Liner thread started since this trailer is a 53 and not a 54???

Lift off happened, piece of cake actually, I was surprised. Started a thread under the frames heading since the ladder frame is a bit unusual. We decided to restore it as built in the factory with only a couple of minor reinforcing modifications.

Decided to replace the axels with new. Got those from Redneck in PA. Took the original springs and fittings, plus new axels over to Peters Spring shop in Baltimore MD for a new matched set of springs.

Peters is a trip and is downright amazing. They've been in business at this location and owned by the same family since 1876! Phil, who helped me, is awesome!
Here are a couple photos of Peters...

Had new wheel wells made of 16ga 5052 aluminum. They are a match to the original galvanized....but are a bit more compatible with the exterior skin that'll be attached to them

Went old school with rigid 2" foam insulation...

The new step in the floor was expertly recreated by Frank Yensan as with all of the other wonderful details being completed on the project so far.

I'm tackling the windows, all 17 have been removed and are in process of being taken apart, cleaned, polished and getting new screen and gaskets. I'm told by VTS this particular window design is unique to this trailer as it's construction details are different from anything they have seen before. It's a big effort that'll take weeks to complete but will be well worth it.

The shell is back on and all of the windows have been restored...no easy task since the 53 Hehr window is unique to that year...argh.

All of the lower skins had to be replaced since the rodent urine dissolved a great deal of the original. Two of the roof panels were replaced due to multiple exhaust vents and patches.

Finished bucking in all windows yesterday and will install drip caps and door next week.

Its actually 29'. It is certainly a 53, no sloped back end, and the serial number attest to that.

The door has been restored, including rechroming the hinges and porch light. Quite stunning. I'm adding a Bargman lite grab handle. As well, I've managed to locate 5 red and 5 Amber Bargman glass marker lights for the end caps. I've also procured 3 sets of glass beehive marker lights to run along the sides of the trailer. Lots of bling!

Once I figure out how I can add more images, I've run out of space, I'll add more.

I'm posting on Instagram under the user name DCDMB, where I post lots of photos regularly.

Thank you for the compliments!
