All these comments seem to reflect the "cheaper is better" for the components and construction method that Airstream is now using. But the list price sure does not show their product is as poorly built in many areas and appliances as the much less expensive SOBs.

It only has to last two years....

But at 1:28 you see the setback (from the other direction) that I think creates the illusion of a step on the floor. And the overall height of the unit doesn't seem to be able to accommodate a step.

Just noticed that the Nest FB page, in the November 18 post near the top, mentions "two floorplan options" FYI:

https://www.facebook.com/airstreamnest/

Can any FB members read the comments under that 11/18 post?

Happy Holidays!

That Facebook link is fantastic. New observations.
From the photos page.
Will there be two models? The pictures in the warehouse show two windows (side by side) on the curb side while the show pictures with people going in show a single front window on the curb side. I suppose if the mold is only configured with that entire side section being flat, they can just cut the window holes where they want to accommodate different floor plans.
It looks like those holding tanks are really tiny, in the frame pics, the members look to only be 4"tall
Are least it looks like it will be easy to replace the frame when it rusts through and do a shell off replacement.

Out of curiosity more than anything else, I would like to see the new Nest before I die.
However, what is looking like the longest product launch in history is eluding my goal.

FYI from the Airstream Sightings thread. Any further info from anyone? None listed on Colonial’s site.

Two For Sale postings were just added to the classified ads here. With pictures.

http://www.airstreamclassifieds.com/...eam-florida-2/

The pictures show a U-shaped dinette. The name Nest does appear with parentheses on all four sides. The Airstream name is in very small print on the door.

Asking price 47 grand.

Looks like there is a step up as you enter the dinette area to sit, with a heat duct in the riser -- see at timestamp 5:10:

Thanks SeaLevel for the link in that other resurrected Nest thread.

Would like to see the new Nest!

Cheers,

Peter

That could make for an interesting, middle of the night, walk down the hall!

Just saw the new Nest(s) today in Buda. Pretty small, even smaller by about a foot (width) inside than the Casita we had, but they sure are shiny! $46K is what I was told. After, we walked over to see the BaseCamp. Different strokes for different folks...

Any body know details on the fridge? I notice that it is only electric 12/120 powered. Does it have a compressor?

It is 7’1” wide. Is that the same as the Casitas?

I don't have special knowledge about this one, but other modern electric-only fridges used by Airstream use a Danfoss DC compressor, and that fits the "12/120" part.

There does seem to be a step, but right at the dinette. The older photos made it seem like if might have been further to the rear (although I thought it was an optical illusion.
