New Globetrotter

After a long 6 month wait we have finally taken delivery of our new Globetrotter. Our 19' Serenity has found a new home in CA.

Similar to a post by Hans627, we are absolutely delighted by our new unit and there are absolutely no issues as of yet (knock on ALU).

We went with the Cream and Walnut interior with the light flooring and were nervous as to keeping it clean. We were promised that these new materials would clean easily and stand up to anything we can throw at them. We are thrilled to report that the interior seems absolutely bulletproof and is easily cleaned, even with our 110 lb lab inside.

Options are 2 AC, awning package, camera, solar and probably another Fiamma at some point. We went with the Blue Ox for our shiny new F250 Platinum.
Cheers to all!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I hope you'll enjoy it as much as we do ours :-)

Congratulations! We brought our new GT home about 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it! We chose the same interior that you did except in a twin. I don't know what AS has changed in the QC process, but our experience was similar to yours. After being very worried about build quality, we have discovered only three very minor issues.

Safe and fun travels with your shiny new family member!

Congrats!

Congratulations on your GT. I expect to take delivery of my GT twin in June. Same color scheme. Went with the twin for more storage space!

I took a tour of the factory on President’s Day this year and I provided feedback of the lack of quality checks during the mfg process. I’m happy to learn consumers are reporting less issues.

Quick question. How comfortable is it watching TV in this configuration. It doesn't look as though it would be comfortable sitting at the table and turning your neck to watch the TV. Might be a stupid question.

We ordered our 2019 back in January with TB. Last week the dealer advised us it was coming off the production line on 07/20, originally promised in June. Like others I was concerned about some of the comments about quality and glad to hear yours went well. Was advised by dealer the 2019 changes are minimal, still waiting for the details. Tomorrow I go and sit down with the dealer on a new F250. Can't wait to get on the road!

Congrats as well. We brought ours home 4 weeks ago and a similar experience. Only a couple of minor issues and thoroughly enjoy ours. If we can't hang outside for some reason at night, we just put the table down and hang out like we are on our couch or recliners at home.

Safe travels!!

To the OP, what a beautiful AS! Of course I'm a bit prejudiced! Congrats!

My wife and I find the seating to be very comfortable when watching TV. We lean back in the corner (she on the curb side as she is about 5'3"), put our legs up on the seating surface and use the table as an armrest. It was our plan to lower the table and make a lounge area for seating comfort but have not found it necessary to do so.

It works great for us!

2019 GT will have 3 year warranty, standard not optional Backup camera, window awning, and power awning. $6000 increase to cover these of course..

Very nice!

Congratulations.

Wife and I are eyeing the same interior. Glad to read to other comments of the flooring being easy to clean and standing up to the wear and tear of the dogs. Like the QC comments, too.

Do enjoy and get it out into the wild.

Thumbs up

Congratulations on your new GT. We have ordered ours with exact options as you have. And expect delivery early Dec 2018. Only difference I see is we will have 16" Wheels w/Michelin Tires. Also, Blue Ox Sway Hitch which we have on our 2016 27 FB FC trade in. You will be thoroughly pleased with your hitch choice.
Question: My wife wants to know if the color keyed floor/runner came with the new unit. She is also concerned with keeping floor clean. Looking forward to the upgraded interior.

I can hardly wait as I got a case of two-footitis which turned in 4' as I had a 23' before. Order same as willzoom and jhrace. Mine is due in January 2019.

Question for jhrace. Did you order the 16" wheels and tires from the dealer. I didn't see that as an option? And if so why not stick with the stock wheels and tires till you get a couple of years out of them?

Thanks and congratulations on your purchases. See you down the road someday.

Dave

JHrace, Actually we found those runners at Bed, Bath and Beyond-they work great and do not slide around.

Thanks Mniba1. My wife will be pleased to know and so will BB&B after she purchases one of those, looks made for it.

No Results / We had the same itis' problem you did. Our first AS was a 2016 23FB which we thoroughly loved until our first trip to FL Keys. Just was not quite large enough for us. So, upon return I called and traded with our dealer for a 25 FB, then remembered what several AS'ers told us in FL Keys, decide on what you want then order next size larger. We did and perfect size for us. We ordered 27FB with all options + factory installed Power Zip Dee awning, back up camera, and 16" wheels w/Michelin Tires. AS factory was accepting additional option orders in 2016. Love the 16". With less than 5K miles on these per 5 trips, we are actually trading our wheels from trade to new GT upon arrival. Love the look and ride w/16". See ya'll down the road GT'ing soon.

Why GT versus Flying Cloud

In my case it was the interior colors. Other things that are included is power patio awning, manual awnings all around, back up camera, electric stabilizers.

Since this is the last trailer that I will buy we elected to go with all the bells and whistles. Only time will tell if the extra dollars are worth it.

Maybe when we go to sell down the road some day will we know if we can recover the extra cost.

Read / GT has major interior upgrades vs. FC. More space in cabinets & easier open/close. More space in kitchen / salon area. Corian vs. Laminet counter tops. A telescopic Kitchen table / much sturdier design & ease of use. Newly designed couch will get your attention immediately upon entering. Wraparound headboard in BR gives it a more finished look. Bath room w/ Grohe & Kit. w/Franke fauchets / nice upgrade. AS 27' is the right size for us. We wanted more and the GT has delivered.
