Check this out at 3:36 into the video.

The guy doing the video has no idea what he's in but we do.

Yup. Saw them making one at JC, very cool. Thought I was going crazy and had to jump on another tour the next day to get another look

The 23’ floorplan is my absolute favorite Airstream! Was kidding with my husband that we ought to trade our 27FBQ Globetrotter for the 23’ FBT...I think it is the icing-on-the-cake in the Globetrotter line-up. <3

SewStream, that’s too funny! We’re moving up from a FC23FB to a 27’ GT :-). In fact we’re at JC today to see our new GT on the line. While we liked the 23 floor plan it was tight in the galley and didn’t have much space to relax.

What an exciting day for you! We had such a great time seeing our GT in the factory last June. Since then, we have over 190 nights in our Globetrotter - we love it! Where will you take delivery of you GT?

Yes, we can’t wait to pick it up - wish they’d let you pick up in JC but I understand the whole dealer thing.

Our dealer is Ewald’s in Franklin, WI. Probably a few weeks so mid-April.

Wow! The 23 looks great in GT style and I love the twins! More floor space. Now I have to decide between the 25 GT or this! (When and if it becomes a reality)

BSWG, did you happen to snap any photos of this unicorn while you were there? Also, safe to assume that there are storage areas under each twin (as well as the rear table)?

Thanks!

Just Right

A 23FB GT equipped with optional solar, power stabilizers, power awning, as well as Tuft & Needle mattresses would be a very nice package for those wanting a higher-end unit, but not wanting a diesel truck tow vehicle. The 25Fb has such a heavy tongue weight, it puts many of the 1/2 tons into a gray area for tongue weight.

Add to that the additional storage you'd gain on the twins, and I think AS might discover a new buyer segment for this floorplan. I love my older Escalade, but I don't think I'd want to load up 1000#s on its tongue... With this smaller 23FB, it would be perfect.

I imagine the Globetrotter's cushion design (such as that found on the 25 and 27) would make the u-dinette a more comfortable place to sit.

This 23 FB GT could be a great option - if you have $90K for a 23FB floorplan.

We go camping one weekend a month plus a couple larger stays (spring break and summer holidays), max 60 days a year, so we don’t have a dedicated truck for towing and we don’t like one on a daily basis. The 23 is the biggest we can tow, the Globetrotter is the coolest, it has a lot of features we want, and the Euro looks fit our style (we are from Spain). This is going to be the perfect upgrade for our 19FC.
What do you mean about the cushions, how differ they are they?
Thanks

The video above shows the same lower-profile cushion as is used on the 25' and 27' GT couch/dining area. My discomfort (as a larger guy) with sitting at the current u-dinette on the FC 23s, is the more full dinette cushions just don't give as much room to sit (without sitting bolt upright).

We had the same experience with our 2018 FC23FB - tight sitting at the table. I ended up making a new table top a little smaller but still work when lowered. It made it a more pleasant experience but didn't change the upright seating.

That said, we decided in December we loved the Airstream experience but not the 23FB dinette and ordered a 27' Globetrotter. It arrived at the dealer Wednesday and we got to see it Saturday! Pickup scheduled for Friday, April 19 (if weather cooperates).

Congratulations, that's the nicest AS you can get to my understanding. If we had more time to use it and the proper towing truck it would be our choice. Maybe one day in the future...

Thanks! We’ve got a local hardwood shop where I found a 12’ x 6” Curly Cherry board. A friend ran the board through his surface planer then I glued them up. Just transferred the hardware from the original top.

But it is not a 23 footer. It’s the 25, right?
