I would immediately take several very clear photos, send to your Jackson Center along with purchase, vin and any other time documentation and other info you may have regarding the purchase. Do it in writing, email is quick, also send to Jackson Center and your dealer by certified snail mail for followup. Do not hesitate.

It's a manufacturing defect from Airstream's aluminum supplier.

Double suck.

That's really serious. I have never seen anything like that before. You need to get Jackson Center involved now.

Sometimes things go wrong and I’ve always believe that how you handle yourself when things are going wrong says a lot about you. I just received a nice response from the dealer and from Jackson Center to let me know the problem is under warranty and they are going to fix it. Very happy to receive such a prompt response.

Great attitude, and I agree. I hope getting it fixed isn't too inconvenient for you. Maybe it will turn into a fun trip.

There is no fixing the newer flouropolymer coated panels. Panel replacement is the only remedy. Then there is the issue of rivets..... built with bucked rivets, insist on bucked rivets, not Olympic rivets. Olympic rivets are just big pop rivets, thats the cheap way out!

Thanks Bob. They have been grate so far and everything will work out. When I contacted airstream they immediately apologized for the problem and said it was under warranty and they are going to fix it. Its nobody’s fault and sometimes things go wrong but I did purchased new, unblemished and my expectation is that it will be fixed to factory specks. They seam to be jumping all over getting this fixed for me and I do appreciate that.

Makes me wonder if they have contained the failure to a certain lot of material and/or AS's built with it. If bad material was not discovered early there could be many AS's with this defect!

My 23B is in Jackson Center getting repaired. Getting excited, it should be ready in the next couple of days. Can’t wait to get it home and packed for a couple weeks in Florida.

I'm glad they're getting it squared up for you, happy camping in warm Florida.

I'm sitting here in Southern IL, on the way to Chicago for a convention....

It's cold....

I made it home just before the snow. The folks in Jackson Center do great work. There is no evidence that there ever was a problem. Here are the Click image for larger version
