We do it most of the time. If I'm feeling lazy and hot, I'll just toss it in the back of the TV.

I don't like to store it there. The bumper storage compartment (on both our previous Flying Cloud and our current Classic) experiences some water intrusion and can get pretty dirty in wet weather since it isn't sealed with any kind of gasket material. Personally, I don't want the cable conductors to be exposed to that kind of environment, nor do I want to have to wrangle a heavy filthy cable.

In may we took a 3000 mile trip to Wyoming and back. Lot's of rain, snow, mud, dirty roads, etc. When we returned that compartment was pretty gunked up and had to be hosed out. If the cable had been in there it would have been a mess. TEHO.

I do store hoses for my gray tank and blue boy back there as well as the long rod for the awning locks and the sewer hose elbow.

If you chug down dirt / sand roads from time to time, the rear bumper compartment *will* get a good coating. Since it's far from tightly sealed, what's in it also will get a good coating as well. I have a lot of data on this.

Sand and grit is the last thing you want to let into an expensive connector. It will grind down the connector and whatever it is plugged into. When a connector is worn down, it's resistance goes up. That makes it heat up and melt. Not a good thing at all.

I put foam gasket tape on the ends which dramatically reduces road dirt from entering the bumper compartment.

You can store it there, but it will get wet and dirty. Keep it somewhere clean and dry.

I store my cords in the bumper compartment. It will get a bit dirty and dusty but not enough to cause any problems for me. Now if I was traveling muddy, gravel/dirt roads often I would relocate the cord to my TV.
