I have a ‘16 25 rear beadroom twin and I don’t find the fridge fan disagreeable at all. Fridge works great. Further, I know of several FB stories of the roof vent leaking into the trailer. For us, the big bathroom, the outside storage, and having both the microwave and the gas oven were dealmakers for us. Make sure you get the streetside awning package and for my money you’re good to go. If I bought another one today-exact same layout...

I can see an issue with heat or even exhaust gas (if using propane) being trapped by the long awning that I am having installed on the fridge side. When I was looking, it was a close decision on the RB vs FB with the tipping factor being the larger bathroom. But I am fine with the smaller bathroom... dont really spend much time in there anyway! And with the FB, I get the larger microwave/convection oven. So, I am staying with my decision to change to the FB... and thank all for their input!!

My 16 FC25 rear twin has been awesome. Fridge has been flawless and you can’t beat the larger bathroom. We have oven and large convection microwave. Outside storage is superb and all compartments are totally accessible. Our fridge could be quieter but not an issue. You made a good choice the first time. Don’t let a fan that Might or Might not need to be replaced be an issue. You will be being making changes and upgrades no matter what you choose.
Whatever you choose enjoy 😉

Dexter I have a 25 RB twin and would be interested in the details of what fans you bought and how you installed them.

I have a roof refer vent on my 2014 FC25FB twin. In 14 the determinimg factor was having an gas oven and a microwave above the refer. The microwave occupies the vent space. That is, a separate microwave and a convertional oven I have a convectiom/microwave under the cook top.

I mounted two fans and then one on the bottom to draw air in. Great improvement!

I bought a 240mm fan, drilled new two holes a little further out on the existing mounting to line up with the holes on the fan, then to isolate the fan I split an old flip flop to use as vibration isolation. No major modification required, it is almost silent, most of the sound comes from the air blowing on the screen, moves more air and uses less power than the OEM fan.
Works wonderfully.[emoji3]

Would a side vent fridge be a deal breaker for someone traveling a lot in the south?
I really like the layout of the 25RB, larger bathroom, the large storage compartment in the rear, etc.
Front or rear 'view' dinette doesn't really seem to be an issue with us.
There are always compromises but this thread has got me thinking, that also creates a lot of unnecessary heat!

Flying Cloud 25rb fridge exhaust question
We have the side vent fridge in our 2013 FC 25RB and have had no issues with its performance traveling either in the south, the west and northwest during the summer.

Thanks. The (FC 25RB Twin) looks like it could be a good fit for us, layout, length, storage, etc. Without one to actually look at, the floor plans in the brochures do not really show those kind of details.

You’re welcome. You can always easily add a second fan if necessary. I did, not because of any issues but because I like to tinker and for “insurance” when parking in the sun; but I had used it a couple years before adding the second fan. Sometimes I think fridge performance is more the “luck of the draw” with the individual fridge unit that is installed.

As you may have read in earlier comments, a fridge exhaust roof flue is more desirable than a side vent IMO. Our old 25' had one, and fridge performance/fan noise were not issues at all.
Can you make it work with a side vent? Sure, but is that why we get new trailers, to "make it work?"
With a roof flue -- air is hot -- hot air goes out roof!

Yep, I agree Stu, the K.I.S.S. method is usually best and I'd like to keep it that way, simple.
However there is always a but (pun possibly intended ) and the FC-25RB hits just about every other 'button' just right, short of a custom build.
I'm still trying to decide if the side vent fridge poses that much of an issue to move on.

Our 22 footer has the side vent. Airstream installed ONE cheapo computer fan behind the top door to make noise and move a little air out of the frige compartment. It works, but is a little noisy for my taste.
Current thread as an example of an improved setup:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f425...ml#post2140772
Several have added 3 120 mm quiet computer fans in the same area to improve circulation, have left the door open a bit, propped with a stick, and have generally reported that it works better.
It's very true that a roof vent and one low door gives natural convection, but it also eats into interior space. It's a trade-off. IMHO, if all the rest of the AS you are considering is wonderful, then add a few quieter fans to the area of the top door, and go out and enjoy camping. Even my stock fan does not bother me much.
The real irritant was the Atwood 6 gallon water heater that made lots of noise--boiling and knocking noises as it cycled. It's gone, and a Precision Temp 500 series tankless took it's place. End of noise...
