Elongated toilet for FC 28
My wife is fine with the Dometic 310 toilet in our FC 28, but the little girl seat is just too small for me. The Dometic 320 has an elongated bowl and wooden seat, should be much more accommodating for the male anatomy.
Will it fit in the bathroom, though? From what I've read you need 11" minimum from the center of the drain to the wall, but to what part of the wall is that measurement made? At floor level the wall is much closer than that, but at seat level it's quite a bit greater, as there is a "hump" in the wall at the floor.
I've found in the FC23 thread where someone has installed the Dometic 320, but I don't know if the bathroom is the same as the FC28 when it comes to room around the toilet. Anyone with a 28 footer upgraded their toilet??
Failing that, is there an elongated seat and lid that will fit on the existing toilet?
Thanks!

Thanks for sharing.
I'd hoped someone had installed an elongated toilet, but I went ahead and tried an open front wooden seat on the existing toilet. It gives an extra two inches of room at the front of the opening.

Now I just need to fabricate a cover over the "vacuum break" at the back of the toilet to complete my "quick fix".

Reviving an old topic I started last May - the possibility of installing the larger Dometic 320 in an AS 28ft trailer.
Well, finally bit the bullet and bought one. I figured if I got it from Amazon and it didn't fit I'd be able to return it w/o any problem.
Well, it fit just fine. Looking forward to using this upgrade. The spray hose is an added bonus, and the toilet really didn't take up much more space in the bathroom than the old one did.

Planning for the future - once I was sure the toilet would fit - I cut off the crimped on hose clamp at the top of the flush valve and replaced it with a normal hose clamp before installing the toilet in the trailer. That way I can easily replace the valve if it starts to leak, or malfunctions in some other way. From what I've read they're easy to change out, except for having to fight with the crimped on clamp in a very tight space. The new 320 toilet has exactly the same "footprint" as the 310, and comes with the rubber seal at the base. Easy-peasy to remove the old toilet and install the new one.
