Looking at the website for the 30 Twin under see all options, I see the bunk bedroom OPT. Is that correct? I haven't seen this before. I know the 30 Bunk model has the front bedroom and rear bed with bunk, but is there really an option to get a bunk in the rear bedroom of the 30 Twin?
Let me add some details. I was rushed yesterday. We wanted a 30 bunk with twins so I emailed airstream directly and the rep for our region emailed me back saying they can't do it. I actually saw the rep the next day at the Houston rv show where he basically said they won't do custom orders because they tend to get messed up costing them too much time and money. Also they have enough business as it is so they don't need to customize to make sales.
We recently ordered and picked up a 2017 FC 23D Bunk. I was told by a few friends that have AS, that you could negotiate custom mods etc. I called factory and several people there told me the same as Mjacks, they used to do it, but not anymore. Cookie cutter, in and out. No time. I offered them mega $$$ to eliminate the front skylight and use thicker gage wire for solar. Totally denied......

I love my airstream and i have respect for the folks that make them.
But I've been to the factory. I'll get slammed for saying this, but you don't want a custom order. They have enough trouble getting details of stock trailers correct. It's like 1950s technology with 2017 workers over there.
When we ordered a 25' Classic in 2007 we had a few custom changes done that had to be approved before construction. We added an upper and lower vista view window to the right of the door. A entry light over the door. We have twins so I had them leave out the cabinets over the beds and add vista views above and below the rear windows which required shades and longer curtains. It adds more light in the bedroom area as well as a more open feeling not having that cabinet over the bed. We added a few other options that were part of the standard options of upgrades also.to bad they won't consider custom work anymore. Seems like they could do well with maybe a seperate shop where custom work could be available.
