Thank you for this confirmation, Richard, as you first said in Post #17 earlier in this thread.

I think then your best bet is to go the route you were reticent to earlier in the thread. Once you complete your previous winterizing steps, finish by dropping a gallon or two of RV-grade antifreeze into your fresh tank, turn on the pump, and fill your lines to your faucets, etc., through the pump.

This will clear the fresh water sufficiently from the pump and offer winter storage protections without having to locate and/or remove the pump at the present time.

From my own experience, I usually de-winterize/re-winterize 8-10 times per winter to go camping; and the RV anti-freeze clears from the system fairly quickly. I think I've only ever noticed a lingering smell of it in the shower; but I also have an water-saving shower head, so it's likely simply a matter of how long it takes to pump the same amount of water through the line.

Antifreeze.....good idea or bad? The owners manual suggests pouring into traps, some recommend pumping through system, and others avoid altogether.

Neither good nor bad, just one way to skin the cat. Many of us use a combo of drain/blow and AF in the traps and the pump. Why spend the money filling the whole system with AF if you are confident the combo works for you?

We don't want AF in pipes period. Traps need AF or removal, which is very difficult for shower.

The panels under the closet are probably doors that don't have knobs. Access to said pump.

If the concern is anti-freeze removal in the shower; I usually plug up the shower drain, as with all others capable of a plug, fill the basin and then release the catch water drain all at once -- that will clear the U-bend in one go.

Clearing it from the lines to the shower head, yeah for me that's a different story -- I usually need to run the shower continuous for 5-10 minutes on its own to clear it fully for use again.

. . .
The solution may be more complex than that, as suggested in DeltaRon's thread via the link in Posts #5 and #39.
