Clogged shower drain

I put a drain trap on the shower drain too late. It's clogged. Any recommendation how to open drain on a 2017 26U other than pouring a "Drano" type agent down the pipe?

Many thanks!

Jim

What's wrong with Drano? Works and harmless!

Hi

One hint - modify the info in your profile so it shows the trailer that you own. It will make it much easier for people to keep track of what is what as conversations evolve.

Anything you put down the drain will soon be in the black tank. Rinsing things very well is highly recommended. Mechanical clearing should be done *very* carefully. AS likes to use "waterless" traps in the plumbing. They have a flapper in them that is easy to damage. Is there one in your shower line? It's Airstream .... never the same way twice .... so who knows....

A plunger would be another option. How well it works with the traps ... no idea.

I would not put harsh chemicals into the shower drain. They could easily damage the seals on the holding tank. Fixing one problem and causing another is not a good plan.

I have never had a problem with any drains on my trailers and have taken thousands of showers over the years. Do you have any idea what is causing the blockage? Is it possible that the grey water tank is full and the water is simply backed up into the shower?
