Checking In: New F.C. 25 Twin owners
Retired three years ago. We've talked about this for a long time!
Next week we pick up our new 2017 FC with all the bells and whistles.
Our first trip will be to the Barrier Islands. This changes everything.
I've missed out on some amazing A.S. deals but this one was ment to be.
Thanks everyone for your excellent insights here at Air Forums. We plan to stay active here and travel alot.

We are just up the road by Frederick and one of our first trips will be down to Nags Head; really looking forward to it! We've had our 27' FC for a week :-)

We may have to share tips.
When we pick the AS up what should I pay attention to? Our deal will give us some instruction.
Immediately after pickup I'm camping in PA than back home and quick turn around to head out for another week!

For me I tried to pay attention most to the outside "mechanicals"; hooking up power and water, dumping tanks, hitch set up and so on. I am paranoid of driving off with something dragging! There are YouTube videos for almost anything so that helps for things you miss/forget

Nope.
Even if there were, you'd eventually bang it on the aluminum and regret the dents. Just put the generator in your TV or in the TT.

Got it. I use pretty basic standard duty extension cords with this generator for carpentry mostly. Will that do the trick?

Just back from spending the night at Colonial. We are very very happy.
Kudos to Nic, Pat, David and Chris not necessarily in that order for perfect customer service. Enough good things have been said about Colonial but without these gents it would not work.
A few things to be happy about. The Equalizer hitch is 100% awesome. Chris set it up and first thing I noted that the bubble was dead level with trailer on the ball. The man is good. Towing home we were cruising easily in heavy traffic on the NJTPK at 70mph no sway no bump nada. Big rigs give you a little and I mean little push but nothing to worry about.
For everyone who has a new(er) Tundra, enjoy. What a beast.
We are still figuring out "modes" of operation.
Thanks for the tips. We are off for a real get away.

Too Tall,
Glad you are having such a good experience.
We also tow with a Tundra.
Some unsolicited advice I would offer (unless you happen to have really great factory and/or aftermarket extendable tow mirrors) would be the McKesh tow mirrors WITH the round convex mirror for each side.
We had the standard factory mirrors and some snap-on tow mirrors at first. This was fine with our bambi sport 22 since it was narrow(7 feet). Once we got the 25(8.5 feet wide) we couldn't see behind or next to us with the snap on mirrors.
We ordered the McKesh mirrors from the Hensley website. They are really good. It took a bit of a learning curve to get them adjusted just right, but now they are on/off in about 2 minutes. We can really see everything now, especially approaching traffic on the merging on-ramp, and vehicles in the left lane.
The only "issue" we experienced was some strap humming on the passenger door side (it winds further away from the door's surface due to the direction that the spindles turn). We use 2 of those cheap, flat, foam can coozies under the strap against the door and problem solved.

Putting a single twist in the strap works too.

As much as I hate spending twice to get it right I have to get it right.
Thanks for the mirror tip. I'm struggling with a set of JR Products Grand Aero Towing Mirrors. I can not seem to get them far enough away from the truck.
LOL Yep, Tundras are awesome

We are three days into a great get away and could not be happier.
We are in Hatteras. Driving here in a brutal rain storm forced us to take a break. The equalizer hitch recommended by Colonial was perfection thanks to Chris the hitch whisperer.
Everything I mean EVERYTHING is awesome.

I have the Grand Aero mirrors, a 25' and they work well. Remember you only need to see down the side of the trailer. The rods are extendable and the actual mirror housing rotates. I usually have mine about 3/4 extended on the rod and angled to see side views. I haven't had any trouble with them though I lost one in a wind storm once- blew off while driving. Thank goodness it did not hit anyone's car.

Good call Rod I need to readjust my thinking.
This shakedown trip is great for figuring out how to do things.
Does anyone have insight re the Fantastic fans no longer responding normally?. There is a red light on constantly and they are not openingnand closing as desighned. It is very humid if that matters.

We have the Aero 2 mirrors on our ML Mercedes and had the same problem. I purchased 1/2 inch diameter aluminum bar and replaced the provided 1/2 inch diameter steel bars to extend the mirrors another 6 inches to see down the side of the trailer. The factory pieces were curved and the new aluminum bar is straight and it had no adverse affect on the use of the mirror. The mirrors really hang out there but are aerodynamic enough to be stable. We also fold the mirrors in when parked. It was an easy fix using all the original hardware i only had to drill a small hole in each bar for the retaining screw.

Have you checked the fuse? My 2014 FC 25 Twin fans have a cylindrical fuse on the face of the fan where all the controls are. Your fan may be different. A picture of your fans might be helpful for additional assistance.

Trippin. Brilliant. I am borrowing your mod.
Double. I can force the on using the double habdle to manually raise/lower. Also I did attempt to reset the by pulling the fuse.
