Atwood Power Jack Replacement (Husky or Barker)
Good morning,
My fairly recent Atwood 3000 power jack is requiring frequent repairs, and it may be related to utilizing equalizer hitch. Hand cranking in the southern heat and at 60 plus year young is too much to bear.
I will need to rotate the new power jack head to hopefully allow F-150 tailgate clearance, and I will determine exact measurements needed next week. I am considering the Barker VIP 3500 ball screw that the head can be easily rotated and mounted on the frame without drilling new holes.
I am also considering the Husky 4500R or 4000, however this will required drilling new alignment holes into the frame. As a relative newbie (< one year owner of 2016 FC), I have several questions.
1. Does the Barker 3500 have enough power to lift the FC and truck with the equalizer hitch?
2. Does anyone have experience in mounting the Husky 4500 or 4000 and offer insights into drilling new alignment holes?
Any input and comments is greatly appreciated, as I am undergoing several changes in preparation for fall and winter camping.
Thanks,
