Looking forward to the pictures. I was out in Borrego Springs over the new year and a fellow camper had this modification done but with a desk instead of the cabinet. When I dropped off my 25" FB at Fairfield, and mentioned a similar upgrade, they mentioned they have this done on a couple of the 27" 's in the showroom.

The modification to the dinette allows sitting for 6. Calling ultimate to see if they can do the modification while keeping the slide out bench as we need the sleeping space.

Hey Terry, I hope the new trailer is working out and that you will post photos when you have a chance. Not trying to rush you. Actually, I was hoping you could let us know what drawer slides you swapped in? As I mentioned a few posts ago, The Flying Cloud 20' units seem to need better slides.

Thanks,

Peter

The cabinet measures 45 3/4"x 27 7/8", the butcher block top 47 11/16" x 30 1/4.
One picture is of the interior of the left side of the cabinet, there is a partition between the left and right side of the cabinet. If you look to the back of the interior the little black objects are the closure locks, you can see there are two for each drawer except the middle one there are three for the weight of the pots and pans in that drawer.

The convection/microwave oven is the standard Cuisinart for 2016 that Airstream is using and the bezel dimensions are 17" x 24". The dimensions for the drawers are the face dimensions, the interior door dimensions are a little smaller. The bottom openings are flip downs, they are shallow due to the wheel well behind them.

I did a little sketch with some dimensions, if there is a measurement you need, let me know.

We have spent ten days camping in our trailer since we got it, we love the dinette set up, we seated six for dinner in the dinette, to give everybody more room, we set up a ZIPDee lawn chair. We could squeeze seven at the table, with the lawn chair if necessary.

One item we would like is lighting over the butcher block work top. I am currently looking for a light for that area. I think we will use LED track lighting and plug it into the inverter circuit when we dry camp (about 90% of the time.)

One item I forgot to mention, we used Taupe color vs. the original Cashew upholstery color. The factory Cashew ultra leather felt kinda flimsy, the new upholstery is more substantial and can take the wear and tear of our 12 1/2 travel mutt Zoie. The little darker upholstery color blends well with the interior cabinets and hides the dirt better (which goes with dry camping.)

Thanks for the update and photos Terry, and for the post on the thread about keeping the drawer closed. What brand drawer slides are used in your remodel? [edit -- not the drawer keeps you just pictured, but the slides . . . to be clear]

Thanks,

Peter

Thanks Linda!

Spencer, at Ultimate Airstream in Oregon agreed the color contrasted well with the cabinetry too.
The standard color they pick from the manufacture of the fabric is "Buff" which is very close to the Ultraleather in the trailer Airstream calls Cashew.

Peter,

The slides are made by "BLUM" and the stays are made by "SOUTHCO"

Here some pictures of the hardware Airstream is using nowadays:
