Airstream table is too big

We are, uhhhhh, fluffier than Airstream thinks. It was uncomfortably tight trying to sit at the dinette table in our 17 FC 23FB.

I made some tabletops out of plywood, and tried different sizes until we settled on the size we liked. Then I had a table top made to our specs. It is still 24" wide, but instead of 35" long, it is now 31" long. I took 2" off of each end.

One point that I discovered today. We are taking a grandchild camping soon, and will need the table to convert into a bed. I thought I would have to put the original table back, but that is not necessary. Even the reduced size table will function just fine as a bed. (If we had taken off any more than 2" per side, we would have needed to put the original back for that trip.)

We just replaced our dinette table top with a white oak table top from tablelegs.com. Now it is only 29" while and 36" inches long. Since we are still have grandkids spending the night we ordered two more table legs from kitchensource.com and will attach them to the back of table so we do not need to attach custom able to wall. At tablesource the cost a third of what airstreamsupply wanted and the shirt was a fraction.
