Yes it is well protected with varathane . Nevertheless, when we pack to roll, the tabletop will be in a protective cover.

Just curious exactly what did you use for the cleats on your bed set up? Mine also broke when screws came out and was thinking how to reinforce it. It's at the dealership now being fixed under warranty with a few other things but for future reference would be good to know?

The factory did it and they used wood from production to match. They screwed it in from front and back. My intent was to have the cleats extend all the way down to the floor so no possible chance of coming off again but the way they did it seems to be working.

If there's access to the back, why not a through bolt using a machine screw, fender washer and nyloc nut?
I can't imagine having overnight guests, but it's on my list of projects.
Those round table tops for the 26U are a great idea. Now I'll be looking for an old round table. Teak would be beautiful.
I looked at the John Boos tabletops but the price scared me off.

For those who made their own table - where did you purchase the connector for the bottom of the table?

Bolts going through is a great idea, Mollysdad, and that's how I resolved the problem on my last RV but I don't see any easy access to get behind these in the Airstream. At any rate here is a couple of pictures.

You can order them through your dealer. Same with the legs.

26U Table Hardware
We took delivery of our new 26U Twin two weeks ago and have been doing various upgrade modifications ever since. Hope to take our "shake down" cruise next week.
The table height was an issue and I spent time trying to figure out what Airstream was using for hardware. The table base, pedestal, and top fitting are all made by Springfield Marine in Missouri and are used in a variety of boats. The easiest source for the hardware is Cascade Depot in Oregon. Airstream uses the 30-31" pedestal (not clear why) but I purchased two of the 29" Thread Lock pedestals with the button lock on the top for about $25 each, far cheaper than Airstream and a little more secure with the button lock. Airstream is using the 3660018 table mount, but there are other models too. Interestingly, Springfeild makes a compatible thread lock adjustable pedestal (21.5-27.5) that might be useful.

Beautiful job! Extra credit for the plugs! In an area no one looks!
I actually haven't lifted up my seats to look, so you're probably right, I just figured with the furnace under the seat one side and the inverter under the other, there might be a way to sneak in.

What does the button lock top do? Does it keep the table from rotating?

Table Pedestal
Airstream uses a tapered pedestal that simply wedges into the fitting under the table top. The fitting has a groove inside it and the button lock version of the Thread Lock pedestal, which is also tapered, allows the button to engage the groove. This is a safety feature for boats to be sure the top does not accidentally come off. It does not restrain rotation. I found the fit to be a little more stable than the original, but that may have been simply because the pedestal was new.

We're also looking for shorter table legs for our 26RB. Appreciate StephenSB's lead with his post above about Cascade Depot in Oregon.
I wasn't able to find the pedestals on that website or on Springfield Marine's website, but Great Lake Skipper had 5 in stock. Springfield part # 3692128 (28"x2-3/8" Thread Lock with tapered top). I got 2 of them so there should be a few left. Great Lakes Skipper is also selling them on Amazon but they're more expensive.

26U Macerator Toilet Manual
I have a 2016 26U and have started thinking about the macerator toilet and preparing for any maintenance that may be needed in the future. The trailer didn't come with any instructions or manual for the toilet so I'm wondering if anyone has located a manual specific to the toilet installed. I wonder if there is any suggested maintenance that I haven't been performing. I really started thinking about this on our last 2 month trip when I began to notice that after a flush, the toilet would produce a couple of large bubbles up into the bowel which I never noticed before. Don't know if this is a sign of something not working right.
Thanks for any input.
