My toilet wont flush. I think a single paper towel is the prob. Put in without thinking. Any ideas how to unplug?

Where is the paper towel stuck? Can you see it?

If it's stuck in the flapper, I'd get some blue latex gloves on, grit your teeth, and go to work to see it you can free it.

Yup... deep breath.. gloves or a zip lock baggie to protect hands.. hold flapper open with one hand and dig in!

Once you fix this, you will have "passed" the initiation and be a real "Airstreamer"..

Guys...he doesn't have a flapper. This is a 26 so it has the macerator toilet...which poses big problems. The motor is likely jammed.

I would call the dealer for advice. Taking the toilet apart to access the macerator motor may be beyond your skills? Could you give us more symptoms? Can you hear the motor laboring? Circuit breaker tripped? Etc.?

Read your owner's manual to locate the 12 volt circuit breakers and turn off the macerator, if this is needed.

Good luck!

Peter

PS why AS installs a macerator motor in toilets is beyond me, without instructing new owners carefully. Wally!

Holy moly. Sorry, my bad.

No bueno.

Would it be an idea to pour in a cup of Borax and a 1/2 cup of Calgon water softener to see if things could be helped along?

Maybe leave it overnight?

Probably jammed up with the paper towel, which will require disassembly IMO. The blades of the macerator, as I understand it, are not really designed to deal with this material.

Good luck.

Oh no! Do ALL 26U models come with a macerating toilet? Is this an option I can change at the dealership? I hate the idea of having a toilet that can have complicated mechanical problems.

I believe that is the case. When we bought our 26U I'm pretty sure the macerator wasn't an option, but standard equipment.

Yes, all the 26U / 26A trailers have macerating toilets.

In most Airstreams, the toilet is located directly over the black tank, so there are basically no pipes between the toilet and the tank. In the 26, the toilet is not over the tank, so the macerator is necessary.

Yes, they can have problems - like the one the OP is having - if you flush ANYTHING except toilet paper. On the other hand, many people with macerators report that flushing their black tanks is a lot easier.
