Rails/Table Tops
I am likely one of the people going back to July waiting on new tabletops. Randy has been very responsive but there have been long delays in getting replacement (wider) tabletops which I am hoping come soon. This will fix the "side to side" issue with the tabletops falling down.
I did get 2 small rail pieces from Randy (see attached photo) to put between the two rails to prevent the tabletops from falling to the floor between the stops. This helps a lot.
The black you see on the stops below is Velcro I installed as a temporary measure (on the top of the stop and the bottom of the tabletop) to help keep the tabletops from moving side-to-side and falling between the stops. This has helped a lot while I await the replacement tables.
Another thing is did was to partially unscrew the side rails and put a small wedge between the rail and the side of the cabinet then screw them back down tight again - this has the affect of widening the rails to help prevent the tabletops from falling out between the rails. This first happened to me at International and our son was using the bed so necessity became the mother of invention to come up with a temporary fix that has held up pretty well so far.

Rails
Seems like Randy is doing something different than the fix they sent me.
Person helping me sent 36" rails but not wide enough.
I expect more from Airstream ,than Different "Fix" for same problem. And a much faster response!!

Table/Bed Conversion Fix ?
Looking at another fix. How about Two Table post cut short to fit under table while it's in bed position? Looked at Springfield Web and can't find. Wonder if AS
buy's and adds thread mount at bottom? They might store in that spot under front couch. Also thought of PVC pipe"Post" but Table and Floor mount are Diff. ID.
Could Buy Post from AS but they would cost $$$. Any other ideas while i wait for AS?

Watch this video of the new Basecamp. It uses 2 shorter posts with tops to support the bed boards. At about the 15 minute mark.

For me, a few small wedges under the side rails to have them stick out a bit further and a few narrow strips of Velcro on the underside of the table and the top of the rails made for a good fix (for a few $) while waiting for airstream to get back with new parts.

I got an email yesterday saying new table tops are being shipped. Customer Service rep says she measured them and they are the correct length. Here's hoping!

The Two short post are exactly what i'm thinking of. Thank's for video. Very good info. I think i would get a Basecamp if it fits in garage and had $$. Nice unit. Great for weekend or one week trip.

Same for me - now tops fits well. no more risk of shifting side to side and falling out.

Great Layout. Have recently been able to have 2-4 guest dinning . Plenty of room for plates ,wine and all that we needed. What a great time and comfort. Set up buffet across stove/counter and covered sink for serving. Very nice !!. The 26U /Twin has become our favorite.

Got the new table tops and they are a perfect fit. I would not rely on dimensions from another 26u. They are probably all different. The workmanship on the edge banding is still pretty sloppy.

I noticed where you put that long cushion on top of the sofa back. Is that what its for? I called Airstream and they couldn't tell me what it was for.

Long Pillow Uses
I placed the long pillow along the top of the back cushions just for the picture of my coffee table idea. I'm not really sure where it goes. We have used it with the bed. We slide the mattress down and place the long pillow between the head of the bed and the inside wall. Doing this allows my 6'4" husband a little better room while sleeping. So far we are delighted with the 26U!

I'm not sure it has any practical purpose...it's really not used when you make up the dinette bed as far as I can see. Maybe a back support for the dinette cushions. We took ours out and didn't miss it at all.

26u
I am glad to see so many are happy with the 26U. We looked again last weekend, (4th visit to this model in last year) and the hall way is just too narrow with the refrigerator door and bathroom door they way they designed it, at least for us. I like the U shaped lounge area with the twin beds. Perhaps they will add this type lounge in other models going forward in the 25 or 27 models so the lounge area is more practical than the way they are now. Just thinking out loud..

We've got one on order just waiting for the Build date. Plan to visit factory during the process. Ours is the 26U Twin and we are moving up from a 20' that over 20,000 miles on her and is being retired due to hail damage in Texas last April.
We're based in Las Vegas and belong to the Vegas and Greater LA WBCCI Chapters and you?
