You don't say what your antenna is, but I think they started putting rooftop-level omni-directional antennas (which don't have to be pointed) on at some point. A directional antenna will almost always work better. Raising the antenna also helps.
If your antenna can be pointed, maybe the preamp is bad.
If you have LED lighting, those have been reported to degrade TV reception. Turn off your lights and re-scan to see if that is the problem.
Several have reported much better performance from the King Jack antenna if you end up having to change.
