Thanks for the shout out! The new sink’s footprint does eliminate the old faucet’s holes. These are marks from the old sink and faucet.

As you can see the template cut out eats up the factory faucet holes.

The sink is Kohler Shagreen Wading Pool in Ebony. Sink is part of Kohler’s collection whose sink is used in the new 33’ Classic bathroom.
http://www.us.kohler.com/us/shagreen...ks/1288199.htm

The faucet is Hansgrohe Metris in chrome online from Costco. A lot less expensive than other suppliers.
https://www.costco.com/Hansgrohe-Met...100337899.html

The old hose was 1/2” and new is 3/8”. So I had to buy a couple of 1/2” to 3/8” adapters. Also a 1 1/2” to 1 1/4” reducer sleeve for drain and abs black 1 1/2”x1 1/2” slip coupler.

Used plumbers’ putty for pop up drain and potable water pipe dope for hose fittings.

Used clear silicone around sink opening to seal sink to countertop. Sink uses it’s own weight to seat itself.

Had to slightly bend the pop up lever so it can reach the drain pop up rod.

Love how wide and shallow this sink lends itself to less water splashed onto the counter, and the faucet’s engineering emits the water angle towards the center of the sink instead of straight down. Much easier and comfortable to wash hands or face.

Good luck! John

If I may ask, why did you find it desirable to replace the factory sink?

Great idea. I'm always getting water all over the counter due to the small SS sink. SS also seems to show dirt more/faster.

For us, we found that the factory sink was too small in diameter. We were always confined to keeping our elbows closed in while washing our hands or washing our face to keep excessive water from splashing onto the countertop. We’re always worried about water seeping to the sides of the countertop, around the faucet base and between the sink and countertop. Also the factory faucet outlet was too low and didn’t extend far enough towards the center of the sink. We had to squish our hands way under the faucet and kept bumping them into the back of the sink, or bumping our foreheads into the faucet trying to wash our faces. The new faucet is taller and the water jets out in an angle towards the center of the sink. Ergonomically better all around for us. It intuitively makes washing up a little less stressful for us.

2016 27' Flying Cloud - We Made Some Changes

Even the minor changes can have a positive impact. After seeing your soap dispensers I installed soap dispensers in the kitchen, bathroom and shower and it freed up precious counter space and has a more organized look.Click image for larger version

We just had our first trip of the spring and booked another one in a couple of weeks (unfortunately my busy time at work coincides with when I would like to start camping!) so I had to dig this thread up to re-think some of these ideas for our use. I have only made a couple of changes but the stuff in this thread is inspiring; even some of the simple changes like the previous post with the soap dispensers can make a big difference in convenience. I think this used to be a sticky post but since it isn't I am giving it a bump :-)

Honestly my wife and I tend to be people who work around that which exists rather than some of you who have a preference and then create what is needed to match that. But these mods also remind me of a few niggling issues (like the twin bed mattress sliding and hanging over the edge) that are a bit more involved but well within my mechanical abilities. Time to start planning a bit! I hope you all are having fun and getting out!

2016 27' Flying Cloud - We Made Some Changes

I replaced my kitchen faucet and added a couple of soap dispensers for dish and hand soap (only one shown). Took about 15 minutes and a crescent wrench[ATTACH]

Dtrentr--that faucet is MUCH better looking than the stock one.

Airstream should change to that one in my opinion. Nice job!
