Soooooo, can't remember if I posted it on this thread or not but a refresher and update.
11/2017 discovered a very slight leak on the rear Fantastic Vent when washing the rig. Thought it was the oven fan outflow since a few drops on the stove cover. Dealer discovered a crack in the FV base flange. I call it a curb flange. Calked and tested all good. to go. Whoaaaa. Cracked? What up? Called FV and they said often at install they are cracked if mfr, over torques with a driver. While the 2 years parts/labor had passed, the 7 year parts was still in play. Seems models have changed from my 6000 series (H6000BTAWH) so no base flange is available....we'll send you a new compete (reversible model) 3350. Well OK!
Called JC re FV's install comment...gave me an hour of good will for the install. Thanks JC!!!
Jumping fwd to the Hee Haw Florida 2019mtour, noticed some condensation on the domes, but attributed it to cold weather and closure and exhale. Cranked the domes up a bit for some flow...all groovey.
Came home...rained for 3 days...went to the rig at storage to clean things out and noticed a 3" puddle in front of the closet drawers. Wiped it up, left a buck where the puddle was...dry for a week even after some precip.
Pulled the garnish (trim) as they call it...two rusted screws and evidence of moisture. Decided to take a few pics of the fwd dome and could see a crack in the flange at the same location of the rear vent's failure.
Called FV/now Dometic (they were great!!). Slight hurdle they wanted me to go to a service center...NONE is OR...pointed out the last was shipped to me directly......found the earlier order and agreed to ship another to me. Labor is mine.
After a closer review at the dealer for a patch (leaving town for a quick trip) I also suspect the caulk failure at the cracked corner. For whatever reason I left the nose down that time and it is usually level to slight up....hence the leak now but not the previous 3 months of very obnoxious weather.
So for the heads up....get up on top and take a good look at your caulking. I don't do ladders anymore so this is now a dealer function.
Fwd FV install set for this Monday. BW vacBr/Ck Valve project after this is in the bag!
For the record, my pic of this fwd vent after the 11/2017 event did not show a crack in the flange. So much for the OEM driver over torque assertion. Clearly this was a crack in the course of OTR. Check the vent flanges OFTEN....maybe a peek under interior trim once in a while. Especially since I saw no evidence of a failure in the waterproofing.
And while you're at it, a very hands on s/annual or annual roof inspection

The caulking on every rivet, did your trailer come that way? Ours does not have that, but we do have an insane amount of caulk on the Fantastic Fans. It covers almost the whole flange and an inch or two on to the roof.

SC, here is a different angle. The OEM is the darker/ dirtier, tooled at the flange edge, but also on some of the screws. When the rear fan was installed the dealer touched up the fwd fan, they lets say top coated with fresh in a less tooled process.
I also talked to them about the caulk. Last week they touched up the fwd fan sith sikaflex 221 which Lewster recommends as an adhesive and a sealant at seams. He recommends the 715 for roof flashing etc. as it dries a bit more pliable but also is semi self leveling. I'll post that sealants thread later.
Hmm, having trouble on the upload.

Looks like they touched up the fwd edge and a few screws too at the time of the rear FV install (1-2018)

Peter thx for the recap. I have been bouncing back to previous thread posts.
BTW Sealants thread.
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f456...ry-116214.html I would suggest posts 21, 100 & 198. Post 91 is the most current "recap".
Thanks you TinTin, Lew and all that contributed. This is a great thread that I have saved for reference.

Howdy fellow 20-footers!
I'll be joining some friends (in their own AS) full timing and traveling around the US.
Here's a pic of my TV and AS:
Thanks to all who have contributed to this thread. I hope I can add some information as well.

Welcome and of course everyone has something to contribute. How does your Chevy’s diesel work out through out your travels around the country?

It's a 2018, bought "used" - it got titled but never picked up from the dealer.

I've only towed from Boise to Salt Lake City so far, and I was quite pleased with the performance of the truck. Only on one very steep grade did it struggle and lost some speed uphill.

Hello fellow 20 footers. The photo above is our new, and I mean new, 20 FB FC. We did a shake down run to Cherry Creek state park right after we got her but the photo is from our “first” real towing and camping trip to Difficult Campground outside Aspen. Great campground BTW. TV is an F150 3.5 which performed without any strain. Looking forward to many more trips this season. I’ve read all the posts in this thread and have learned alot but have tons more to learn.

No - the 56 has pretty much the floor plan as the current 19 - bed is in the back corner and dinette in the front - have all kinds of pics - the 56 is a historic trailer - if you happen to have a 1957 National Geographic it’s in there :-) #50 - I have to say they have made many improvements since 1956 - we love our 2015 20’
