Velcro drawer fix for anybody who is interested. It takes A LOT of pressure to pull them out and has never happened while en route since I put them on.Top - straps on, like I said, the strap is the hard velcro loop stuff and is one 12" strap folded back on itself. The soft fuzzy part is what is stuck to the drawers so when the strap is removed just the soft part is there if you brush against it so you don't stick. Last shot is the 2" raised bathroom floor because the stool is built for giants and we are hobbits.

Good idea on the bathroom floor! It does feel like literally sitting on a throne

Thanks for the photos. Interesting that your 2015 does not have the same large bottom drawer under the oven (where your furnace is apparently with two discharge registers). I am going to go with 2 strap eyes near the sink corner, and 2 in the coat hanging recess near the main entry door, and long 1/2" shock cords to span the fridge, pantry door and drawers. TBD today.

When the shock cord is stowed for camping, the higher eyes could become hanging spots for dish towels etc.? Eye, Eye!

Your bath floor is something we have always intended to do as well, and if possible to have room for cast iron pans stored underneath. I am picturing the new ply floor having short fixed "legs" under it (so it is removable), which could be staggered to miss the pans which would always go in the same spots. 1/2" ply should be enough if well supported IMO. Vanity door bottom clearance TBD vs. bath mat and rug . . .

I have a question regarding air conditioning in our 20 Foot FC's. I am parked on a very level site at the campground. The first couple of days, the condensate tube drained just fine. It is located in the left wheel well and there was a good sized puddle throughout the day. After the second day it slowed to a very slow drip and now the condensation is coming off both sides of the roof near the front end cap. Any ideas anyone?

Steve you might want to check out Post 907 here (and the posts quoted in it) about the A/C. Could you have a partial crimp in the drain line inside the ceiling or wall? In Post 918 is a photo and notes about what I did recently. Although I did run the A/C briefly from my gen hookup, I have not put her to the full test, as you appear to be doing, at a site with full electric.

This is my 3rd iteration. I did a removable storage footstool. It was not optimal. It has to be small enough to get out of the way to get under the sink. If the floor is up to 2 1/2 inches(?) the door will open, but with bracing does not allow much in the way of storage space. Did that and was disappointed. This is removable but not easily. It is in there with a few globs of caulk on each level holding it is so it should come out without any damage. It is 3 3/4 layers of plywood and the 3/4 ish bamboo layer bonded to a layer of 1/4 plywood. Still has room for the cabinet door to open even with a mat on it.

Steve, thanks. I noticed this campground as we passed by on I-70 a few years on our way beck from Missouri. This looks like a great area. I was surprised to see the fruit and grapes in production as we drove by.

Looking at the website, I saw no reference to hookups. So this is dry camping, is that correct?

Jose, that looks fab and looks like a good base camp. I just love the high Sierras. Since I was from the bay area, my knowledge base is mostly the west slope (backpacking), but after visiting friends in Bishop, have discovered how much that slope has to offer.

I'm keeping the loop and your other spot in mind when we hopefully visit the Bishop friend. It may not work as that will be mid-late October and I can't remember when they roll up the roads for the winter.

Thanks for the pic...great campsite...killer backdrop.

Not that you need it, but good luck with your fishing.

Sure will do in a few days. We got into Hither Hills SP again from the wait list. Minimal cell reception and no WIFI, but oceanfront camping at its best!

I should have tried the 20-ftr's thread first. This is the only adding a 2nd TV in the bedroom thread that I could find. Note I find the search function challenging and endless.

Can't believe this is jumping ahead on the mods list. Glad I reinforced the cleats.....soooo, has anyone jumped in ...teagues, Centennialman..anyone else?

On our last trip I looked at the back of the one above the refer. Looks like a regular residential unit, but there is also some 12V connections...maybe for the BR? Can a regular big box store unit work?

Peter mentioned the bulkhead as a mounting option. Does anyone know if AS actually thought about it and added some backing inside the exterior wall?

I presume that with the 110V on the wall, there is some roughed in wiring? I've never pulled the cover off the box.

Any pics, specs, advice, comments are much appreciated.

Thanks Bob, my suggested mounting location was in Post 578 here back in March, just after Steve's questions you linked in the quote. I think that bulkhead between the front dinette seat and the bed is only a sheet of plywood -- 3/4" ? -- so the mount would have to be through-bolted IMO, which is OK IMO as I actually like visible cabinet hardware of a good quality and design.

Doubt if the exterior wall has any blocking etc. in it for a mount. The beauty of mounting on the bulkhead would be that by rotating the TV 180, you could also watch it from the dinette rear bench seat, or from the dinette bed if in that mode. With a couple of lawn chairs in the hall, you could have a Super Bowl party in the FC20!

This would allow removing the OEM TV and using that space above the fridge for more useful storage cabinets etc.. Yes a regular TV would work, and there are threads about this also, mainly for larger trailers.

There is also this thread with a similar discussion:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f44/...er-150336.html

Regarding the Search function, I forget if I mentioned this before, but Post 9 in the following thread has some useful hints:

Steve any chance you could measure up that galley sink window for me this weekend?

Thanks,

Peter

PS -- I think the L/R outside dimension of the screen spline might be the easiest dimension. And maybe the clear L/R inside the back of the shower?

New windows for head and fridge counter?

Has anyone considered that a small operable window might fit where those two small fixed windows are at the fridge counter, and also in the head over the toilet? Our old 25' had these, and they really improved the cross-ventilation. If the structural framing members allow the swap, the related sheet metal work does not seem too crazy IMO.

Now that we have had a few successful short camping trips, and one's health is fairly stable [no small task recently!], the laundry list for other longer-range improvements could also include:

-- new or modified window/screen over galley sinks
-- street-side awning
-- rear awning
-- solar panels, batteries, converter
-- 16" wheels/tires

Curious whether some of the older Safari models here actually had the two windows I first asked about?

Thanks and have a good weekend.

Peter
