Sorry Steve I was working from memory, and was off a bit. On the left and right undersides of my 2014 FC20, about 18" behind the backs of the tires, are silver stickers with blue text saying "Jack" with an arrow pointing to the diamond-shaped pads (about 10" inboard of the signs) where the top of the jack should go (behind each pad is the frame IMO). The left (street) sign is actually hidden by the bracket which holds the sewer discharge outlet in place.

Your owners manual should be accurate for your model year.

Thank You Peter....I will get down under the trailer and take a look. My last Airstream was a 1966 and I always jacked it on the frame near the axle, being careful not to jack on the axle itself.

I am glad to learn that there is an actual "marked" place for jacking.

Here is a possible acoustic dampening material for the pump room, which I was finally able to see yesterday on a construction site:

Made from old blue jeans, it is supposed to have good sound properties and is relatively safe for using in a living space it appears. Under the Construction Products tab at the top left are other similar materials with different backings, thicknesses etc.. I will try to get more info. from the architects next week, but wanted to post the info. today.

On the site above, I also saw some thick batt material which might work here and there in the pump room? Some installations with contact cement were also discussed. All very TBD in my book, but the natural material really caught my eye, compared to petroleum-based foam etc. materials. Fire ratings TBD. Ditto for use in humid climates, although I did see a note about it breathing and being mold-resistant.

Nice work Bob, but please see my comment about the copper unit you pictured. We are having another frost so summerization and pump work will have to wait, as the forecast for the next couple of weeks includes more frost warnings it appears.

Should be 75 tomorrow : ))) Rule is no tomatoes in the ground until 5/1 as soil temp just isn't there yet and so there won't be any root growth. Looked at an old calendar recently from when we lived in Clayton, CA and the plant date was often March. In EUG, it's a foot race for the tomatoes to ripen before the rain and back spot sets in.

I'm getting ready to install the new SilenX IXP-76-18 (120 x 38 mm. iXtrema Pro 18DBA 90CFM) and noticed that the main #12 wring drops down into the refer compartment from above, touching the cooling fins before then turning towards the clamp on the side bulkhead above the fan switch.

Since there is only about 1/4" between the back of the fan and the exterior edge of the cooling fins, I'm thinking of re-routing it along the top of the compartment then down to the existing clamp. There appears to be some 3/4" stock I can screw a couple of small plastic clamps to.

For heat and vibration reasons and so possibly failure on the road, I'm not liking the wiring routing as it stands. Other than that, the swap looks easy.

Any re-routing thoughts appreciated.

As promised, an update on Alumalina last weekend:

The probability of at least one other 20 among more than 100 Airstreams held true. There were TWO other 20s! A 2010 towed by a white SUV (love it!) and a new 2016 towed by a new Dodge Ram Eco-diesel.

The latter rig is owned by Steve and Tamara and is their first RV ever. I invited them to join this thread and hopefully we'll see Tamara on here soon.

If you haven't been to a rally, and can get to this one, do it! Great time, very friendly folks and 100+ Airstreams. Can't beat that combo.

So you guys figured out how to quiet down the water pump ,and the fridge fan , how about the a/c ! I'd go in there with dynamat or similar but afraid if i wraped the wrong componet it might over heat .

TCWheels, thanks for the follow up. My wife and I are planning on a Missouri trip this fall, but have started to talk about a follow up trip to Kentucky, Tenn, NC/SC loop maybe next spring. It would be great to include Alumalina in our plans.

Looks like the little latitudes were kinder to you weather wise, considering your picture posted on the Alumalina rally thread of your return home.

Sorry mazoolah no fixes there! At least we have the large windows hinged on top with full screens plus two ceiling fan units. They say the larger new AS with ducted AC are quieter FWIW, but we just try to stay out of climates which require AC. in rural campgrounds with trees, it is possible to stretch a huge tarp as a sun canopy over the entire trailer and site.

I know belive me , I have thought of going bigger and getting ducted ,but the 20 is a great model and a ton of money to trade up . So how many decibels reduction to make it comfortable ?5 , 10 ? There has to be something doable . I must say not alot on the net to learn from . But im looking 😅

The 2016 20 has ducted air! Just get a new one...😎

Guessing that the ducted A/C sound reduction is not as spectacular as it is billed to be, in our small aluminum can. No hard decibel numbers, but it would be interesting to know them. Not sure if the list price of a new FC20 (what, $65k or so plus sales tax?) is a good gamble to make . . .

Next time we connect with Tamara and Steve - or anyone else with a new 20 - we'll do a decibel comparison. I'm sure there's an ap for that?

Look for iPhone app 'Decibel 10th' in the store. It seems to be fairly accurate as well as reasonably cheap. There may be others but this is one I know of.

I have noticed that after a long drive, over 100 miles or so, in the restroom on the top of the counter top against the outside wall that there is what looks like road grime on the bright trim against the outside wall. I looked at my wheel well and there appears to be a gap between the frame and the trailer. A small gap but it's there. Has anyone experienced this in your bathroom? I am looking into trying something to seal that gap, any suggestions?

Hmmmm, wonder if I have the same gap and whether it might be the cause of the wet insulation I found in the same general area under the bath counter, which I ascribed to a malfunctioning vacuum breaker for the black water flush system in Post #2 of this other thread:

I did drive home from the dealer last fall in pouring rain, and maybe road water splashed up inside the street-side wall? Would the gap you noticed permit this wetness in the wall insulation?

Could you be more specific about where you were lying down (I assume) when you saw this gap? Any chance of a photo or two with flash?

I will look tomorrow.
