Thanks.

Thanks guys, it was a great weekend!
I have not taken measurements of my window and right now my local dealership does not have a 2016 20 footer to measure. I am still interested in that idea though.

Has anyone with a 20' experienced a blown fuse for the refrigerator ventilation fan, as described in the following thread?

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f516...an-141315.html

Does your fan run a lot, especially when the main exterior entry door is latched open, right on top of the refrigerator ventilation doors? It seems like the air circulation on a hot humid day is very compromised here, especially when the awning is out.

On my old 25' the fridge flue ran up to a faired flue cap at the turn of the roof, which permitted LP fridge operation, even on the road. This design also vented the hot air up and out without needing a fan.

Our design seems like a weak link in the chain IMO. Any thoughts other than installing a quieter computer fan?

Thanks.

Update on the fan replacement -- the following thread (among others) describes a replacement fan option in a 16' Sport:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f425...lly-11811.html

Any further thoughts specific to our FC20 would still be appreciated.

Thanks!

rigs, refer fans & windows

TCwheels... Seems I'm attachment upload challenged. I'll try again later.

OTRA15 I don’t have much experience re the fan except that on the one trip, it sure seemed loud. I found your references to http://www.airforums.com/forums/f516/refrgerator-fan-141315.html & http://www.airforums.com/forums/f425/refrig-fan-noise-fixed-really-11811-14.html in the 20-footer thread and will read up. Seems I remember in a thread that posted pics about some plastic cowling for better and more focused air flow made from gutter materials. Duals and the cowling make sense.

Subfan1 sweet. Is that a Fiamma bike rack?. Our install date is next month.
Any advice before we install. I presume access to the back compartment and on the bumper while challenging is workable?

Talk to me about San Clemente SB. We're heading south sometime after the New Year to Dan Diego and a long overdue El Indio fix and started some basic research.

Sink window, no surprise, ours is like everyone else’s. Window is ready but the frame would need to be modified to accept the lever hardware or traded out as discussed. I don’t see screws on the right

Has anyone considered something similar to the window poppers method but longer and bent at both ends. One end would slip into the window locking bracket on the glass and the other end would loop over the handle to keep it pushed in? It would be nice to be operational from the inside....assuming the seal breaks free.

Thanks Bob (and subfan1),

With cooler weather on the way, the rear window mod and fridge fan re-do may go to the back burner. Have a great trip south!

Thanks, the rack is a fiamma and has worked great thus far, ~7500 miles or so. The rear door is a little hard to access but, you'll find your creative way to put in and take out stuff. I carry the hoses and electric power cord and the Coleman stove and only a few other things. I don't access it to often because we try to dry camp as much as possible.
San Clemente SB is nice but sites are very close to each other, my recommendation for you would be Crystal Cove SB. It's on a bluff and has electric and water but no sewer. A dump station is located near the exit of the park. Sites there have more room between them and no camp fires allowed.

Tsubfan1 thanks, good to hear abut the Fiamma. Thanks too for the Crystal Cove tip. Sounds perfect.

We added a road side awning today. We are hopeful that this will make a difference with the heat keeping outside.

Sweet! Did you have your dealer do this or the Zipdee folks?

I have been thinking about adding that and the rear one myself. The price is not bad. What the dealership charges is totally ridiculous.

TCWheels, I had C&G in Bellflower ca order and install it. I didn't have the rear awning installed because with the bikes on the rack, I wouldn't be able to deploy it. We take our bikes almost everywhere we go.

Looks like a great resource to know about, should I ever be back out your way next year.

California Dreamin' 2016?

Stranger things have happened . . .

Thanks for the reference, and have fun this weekend!

Thanks! I got a quote from our dealer for the curbside and rear awning set when we bought our 20. It seemed a little steep at the time but yours looks great and I'm sure helps a lot in those exposed sites. Rethinking....

Subfan1 indeed, a very nice addition to your rig.

Crystal Cove …have a great time. We’re looking forward to our winter SoCal, hopefully to include Crystal Cove.

Sweet! Brings back memories from my days in North San Diego County. Have a great weekend. PS -- A sunset shot or two would be nice!
