Our 2018 Tommy Bahama - Meet "Marlin"

Hi, Folks -
In another thread here, I explained that we've had a 2015 25' Eddie Bauer and absolutely loved it. However, my wife has back issues, and the position of the bed made getting in and out around each other difficult.

Long story short, we went to look at a trade in 2016 27' Eddie Bauer at Dixie RV outside of Birmingham Alabama but that trailer just didn't speak to us. It had some minor issues and we decide to pass on it and were ready to leave to drive back to Nashville. While passing through the showroom, they had a 2018 Tommy Bahama sitting on the showroom floor (all clean and set up with the awning extended and in full -on "presentation" mode.

My wife and I had viewed the TB online and really didn't like what we saw online. We aren't "Margaritaville" type of people (we are more mountain folks) and not Parrot head Jimmy Buffet fans (no offense to those who are - just not our style). We do however, love a good margarita -

But, when we walked into that unit sitting on the showroom floor, and my wife Holly looked at me, I knew we'd found our new trailer. We loved the wood interior and the louvered doors. We love the marine style flooring and while the bar seemed like it would be a waste, we find ourselves stocking the bar and enjoying the novelty of it. (And the ice maker is a great addition!).

What we didn't like was the Tommy Bahama bedspread, so we kept our original Eddie Bauer appointments (throw pillows and bedspread and mixed a few of the TB elements we did like). The only thing that the jury is still out on is the bathroom wallpaper. My wife and I had already selected a sage green grass paper wallpaper that is peel and stick (and removable), but when we got home with the airstream, our kids love the wallpaper, so for now, it stays.

We added two 250 solar panels and moved our sendel wheels/Michelin tires from the Eddie Bauer over to the TB. We also moved our Lifetime Batteries from the Eddie Bauer to the TB.

Please meet our 2018 Tommy Bahama ... "Marlin"

Love that Tommy-marlin

Wow!! That’s a sweet adventure rig.
I do some offshore fishing and I think the look is sweet!
I like the deco tweaks a lot.
Enjoy you new coach.

Marlin screen guard

I wonder if airstream would sell me the lower screen guard with the marlin on it ,for my 23 fb serenity(for whimsy)?
Anyone know if that is possible?

Enjoy the ride and the interest it will draw. Very nice rig. Saw one at our dealer and thought if I bought one I would just sit inside to stare at the lighted bar. LOL.

I'll have to measure which one I got but they are Camco screens -

https://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00480BVXS

(measure your opening and pick the correct size)

There is a stainless trim cover over our hot water heater door. It came from Airstream.com (Store)

And there is a thread out there that debates where to actually mount that nice medallion, and how to keep it on.

I’m planning to put mine next to the 75th anniversary one, and use a couple rivets to keep it on there...YMMV!
