New 2018 TB 27FB Owner
Hi All,
We picked up our 27FB Tommy Bahama last week and spent four days in it over the weekend. We couldn't be happier with it. Coming from an Island Breeze 23D, we notice many improvements for how we use the camper.
We ordered the trailer with the exact options we wanted (manual awning, propane oven, backup camera etc...). I had another excellent experience at Can-Am RV in London, Ontario and appreciated the time that Andy spent making sure my Sprinter 4x4 was setup for towing perfectly. We did stay over at the dealer to make sure there were no issues. I asked them to replace one blind (it looked like a string was pinched in manufacturing) and adjust the bathroom door handle. They took care of it right away in the morning. So far, everything else is perfect. Can-Am installed a Honda 2000 over the battery, 200 watts of solar and a bike rack on the back.
I'm happy to answer any questions a prospective Tommy Bahama buyer may have. We don't really notice all of the branding and find the interior very warm and calming.
A few pics attached.

Hello Sean,
The pics look great. We are getting our TB next week. We are curious, what bike rack did you get?
Thanks.

Hi - Can-Am RV in London, Ontario, Canada custom installs the Arvika bike rack on the rear (actually the hatch and bumper) using ZipDee hardware. It is easily removable and very light weight. We chose not to install it over the propane tanks because it would limit our turning radius and also add weight to the hitch (we already added a Honda 2000 behind the propane tanks). If you have trouble sourcing a bike rack solution, I'm fairly certain that Can-Am RV will ship you the parts you need.
I'm sure you are very excited to be a week away from picking up your TB!

Beautiful setup and backdrop.
Would you mind sharing how your generator is mounted? I'm looking to do the same thing

The dealer custom makes a locking bar that is attached to the base of the generator and fits over metal 'pins' that are welded to the frame of the trailer. One pin has a lock. I'll take some pics this weekend for you.

Pics would be wonderful. Looking forward to it.
Interesting that you were talking about the possibility of a bike rack on the tongue? I hadn't seen that before. Though I agree that it makes more sense on the rear for your setup.

Agree a great trailer we also have a new Tommy B a very nice upgrade from our 2013 Flying Cloud.
As well, I would be interested in seeing photos of both the Gen set up & Bike mount.
At the moment I've chosen to install a fork mount for the bike just inside the hatch under the table. Understanding our bike is a tandem this makes for easier storage than an extended track that we had on our previous airstream bike rack. It also gets the bike out of the weather, road dirt and is theft secure while on the road or in camp and away from the trailer.

How did you install the fork mount? Did you just screw it to the subfloor? Is that strong enough? Do you know if the subfloor is 3/4 plywood?

Nice views from your dinette, of the lake back there.
My 30's dinette is at the curbside, with side windows shaded by an awning.
I have never opened the front or rear windows, as I find them redundant, and difficult to open.
We both have nice interiors in our FCs.
I'm curious about that Honda on the battery box; wouldn't that upset the weight and balance of the rig?
AS states in the manual, that the tongue weight should NOT be over 1000#, although some posters report 1200-1300 lbs.
Mine is generally 950-1000 as weighed by the Surelite scale; and seems to tow alright.
I use my 'ground palette' (Used under the steps) to trim the balance, by placing it fore or aft on the floor.

Just Beautiful!!!!
Absolutely fantastic. I really like the wooden blinds and finish on the floor. Your AS screams BEACH. Would like to see the generator mounting and bike rack as well.

To answer The Naker's question re the bike fork mount,
I've attached four pic's
A) The Fork mount, I made a bracket to raise the Saris mount up off the floor, this was req'd due to the configuration of our tandem bike. I suspect it wouldn't be req'd for a single bike. I screwed the bracket to the floor with two #10 x 1" Phillips head wood screws, replacing one factory screw at the hatch threshold.
B) The Fork mount with side support, view looking aft.
C & D) Details of the side support extended and folded, this is a RecRak screwed to the seat base. it supports the bike from side to side motion attached at it's rear frame. When not is use the support is folded over and hides under the seat cushion.
Super secure set up and you wouldn't even know it's there one the table is in place and support is under the cushion.

^That's great! My wife and I ride a tandem too and we hadn't considered bringing it with our camping trips. This might change things. Thanks for sharing that.
