Twin beds

For those that have twin beds we are wondering if changing making the beds are a pain with the bed against the wall. We like the extra room in the bedroom but also enjoy sleeping together

We just purchased the twin model. We are not using the bedding that came with the trailer except for the sheets, but they are not necessarily a pain to put on and off. The extra storage was worth it in our opinion. And besides, the wife is close enough to hold hands while we pray at night. First time sleeping in separate beds - well except for my 100 lb lab. He takes up way too much room!!!

We also do not use the bedding, except for sheets. We have matching Pendalton blankets, which also match our two Labs beds, if we bring those with us. First time in 48 years sleeping apart, but much better than the small queen plus so much more storage.

We had both a 28 and a 30 with twin beds. We found them uncomfortable to sleep in. Up until our present 2017 Classic, we always changed mattresses in our Airstreams. We have had four. It is very difficult to get a replacement mattress for the unusual shape of the twins. Plus, I found them uncomfortable to sleep on. Due to the curve, I would roll over and find my face pushed against the side. I finally wound up sleeping with my head at the foot of the bed. If you want storage the twins will give you that. If you want comfort and ease of making the Queen wins hands down. We have never found ourselves short of storage with the Queen. I should mention that ou present 30 Classic is the first time we have not had to change or doctor the mattress.

Twin beds

Love the twins. Mattresses are very comfortable in our opinion, more room, way more storage. Plenty of ways to still have "fun" together without having a queen bed. Twins all the way!

All Classics come with sheet sets. If you didn't get them check with your dealer.

I have a '91 Excella with twin beds. Soon after purchasing her and I had new mattresses made. My new mattress are much deeper and the original AS sheets didn't fit well. I went on Amazon and bought a pair of deep pocket extra long sheets. They are working out really well and easy to put on.

I'm also thinking of getting a duvet cover (maybe a queen or king and cutting it in half) or a washable quilt and not using a top sheet. I'll look up the Amazon link and post in case you're interested.

With the twins and a little ingenuity you can easily make bunks. In my case found a set of '75 bunks that convert the twins into couches. Unless we have little ones traveling with us the front gaucho stays let down in bed mode and the twins serve as our sitting area. Very nice not having to stow away the gaucho every morning.

My Twin does lift up for additional storage directly under the mattress as well as the lockers above and drawers below.
