Sleep Number Mattress

We have a 30' Classic that has the mattress platform with the wooden slats. Would like to get a sleep number mattress, but they say it must be on solid surface. Anyone have any experience with sleep number on the slats or a solution that doesn't involve a plywood install.

Google is your friend. Not enough support if slats are greater than 2 apart. Not sure specs on airstream slats but this could be easily modified to work. Best of luck, include pictures if you decide to proceed so we can all see what you did and how it turned out!

Is the 2017 Classic in question a twin or a queen? Both have slats, they each have very different mattress issues.

Our Excella has a solid platform. It is 3" shorter than the mattress so it hangs over... Been this way for 7 years and a few hundred thousand miles without problems.
You're going to enjoy changes in altitude!
