Shower sweep failure

I was surprised to notice that the clear plastic sweep attached to the bottom of my shower door is split apart leaving about a 3 inch long flap.
I ordered a replacement and a couple spares.
Anyone else having this issue?
Is this just normal maintenance?
I kinda thought I might get 5 to 10 years out of the component.

Yes, been there. Notice that the lower door frame has a groove along it's length. The seal gets caught in there and has to make some pretty aggressive flexes in order to "change direction". I filled the slot in the bottom of the frame with sealer to make a more smooth transition for the seal. My second sweep seal has lasted for 6 years after that little mod.

Can you give me a heads up on how to replace the sweep? Do I have to remove the front door frame to access the old one and slide it out?

Gosh, it's been so long, I don't remember. Don't remember it being difficult and I think your right...remove the front trim.

Wait, doesn't the bottom trim come off with 2 or 3 screws?

It does not look that way. It looks like there two screws holding the front trim on. If the front trim comes off without causing an issue I was hoping it will expose the slot that the sweep is in and I can slide it out and slide the new one in.
I was fearful of having the whole glass door coming apart when I took the screws out so I was asking before I did something stupid that costs more time and money to fix. Just being cautious

I got a weird feeling that your door is different than mine.

There are a few threads here about the sweep. Very common problem. Several - including me - have removed them entirely with no ill effects. YMMV [emoji3]

Shower sweep failure

Okay, figured out the sweep replacement.
I did not need to take the door apart. The sweep comes out of the door by pulling it down toward the floor. I cut the new one to length and it needs to have 1/2 inch of the part that fits into the door groove shaved down at the end proximate to the door pivot pin so that the sweep fits the entire length of the door. Press upward and it pops into the groove. It took about 15 minutes to complete. I am sure others could get it done under two minutes.
