Shower modifications 2018 Classic

Our Classic came with an Oxygenics shower head and a plastic hose.

Unfortunately the shower head has no way to pause water flow. We boondock a lot and want to conserve water.

We were able to replace the plastic hose with a nice Koehler metal hose and added a pause - on/off button. Seems to work well.

Thought I would share.

Chuck, thanks! I will be picking up our 2018 33’ Classic this week and did not know there was no pause button! I agree fully; this little feature is a must for water conservation, and have used it with every shower I’ve ever taken in our Airstreams!

I will certainly be making this mod.

I also plan to add the SimpleHuman Triple wall mount shower pump:

Thanks for your idea!

Shower modifications 2018 Classic

Thanks I’ve got to get one of those on off items for our 30’... had one on the 25’ but not the new trailer

FYI we had the triple soap container in one of our bathrooms at home, and the double in another.

The triple is heavy when all 3 are filled up. Eventually it came unstuck from the wall.

You may consider just the double as bouncing down the road will cause even more load on the unit.

Our 2018 Classic 30' came with a Kohler metal hose and shut off. I think it's Kohler?

Interesting. We just picked ours up on Saturday and it had plastic covered hose and no shutoff. 90% sure it’s also an Oxygenics shower head.

I installed a Danco 89171 Shut-Off Shower Valve at point where the supply fitting comes out of the shower wall. This is especially useful to adjust the water stream from full on to a slight trickle to maintain water temp and everything in between. I turn it down while scrubbing then up again to rinse and the water temperature is right where it was left.

Much better control than just an on/off button.

Important to note that this valve does not turn off the flow completely when turned to 90 degrees to the flow. This is by design to allow a trickle to maintain the water temperature as set at the faucet.
