I'd spring for the metal knobs if it works for me. Only need a dozen at $5 a pop.:~

Just noticed also that in the rear with twin beds, the shroud runs behind the shirt closet above the foot of the beds. It would be hard to shim that.

Knob?

Would someone please be kind enough to list the part# for the vintage knobs? I looked at their website to no avail. Thanks in advance for your help.

I just ordered 18 metal knobs. I really like the set-screw method. Plastic knobs that pull off are a no-go.

Add a drop of LocTite 242 MEDIUM (not the red stuff, think this is blue). While I haven't had a lot of issues with the set screws loosening when I find one loose now a do a 'little dab will do ya' with LocTite.

Since we full time I have been cutting the plastic ones down. Almost have them to where they don't hit the blind. Could use a few of the original ones to do some heavy cuts on. If you want to give them up for the experiment let me know

Chrome Handles Installed!

I ordered 18 of the chrome knobs from Vintage AS and installed them all this past weekend. Added blue locktite to the setscrews as recommended. They look much nicer and match the latches. I still have a little bit of interference with a couple of the shades. Nothing serious that we can't live with. All in all, I would say a worthwhile project! Thanks for the info!

I just returned from Jasper and my package of 18 was waiting for me. After a quick install I can (also) report that they do appear to help with the shades. They seem to insert onto the rod just slightly deeper than the plastic ones ....and look so much better.

Thanks for the info on the fit with the metal knobs. I think I will pull the trigger on them.

Also, a couple of shades also have a bear to get around the window lock at the bottom. Anyone else experience this?
