Anybody else got cracks? All four locations at the speakers fore & aft have similar cracks. Warranty replacement is "4 - 6 weeks backordered" and the putty was temp fix at the dealer.

Hi

I have not seen that on mine. I'd go with "do both" as the answer. Looks like they got a bit rushed when going through the drying process on that batch of wood.

The service guy said he has used putty on every 17 Classic that has come in for work; maybe it's a Utah thing.

Hi

That would match up with a "not quite dry" issue on the wood. Unless it's a lot wetter in Utah these days

Do you know if they are all the Cherry cabinets? Ours are Maple and as I stated so far nothing. She has traveled a little over 8,000 miles in 11 months, but I emphasize "so far".

No, it's still in the low 20% range most of the time. If it weren't dry when it gets here, it doesn't take long to get that way.

I will let you know tomorrow night but I haven't noticed any cracks in mine yet. ( I know I said I was going to bed but I can't sleep)

Maybe they should redesign that speaker grill with just a smaller round opening.

My 2007 hickory only has one very small crack, which was there in 2010 when I purchased.

Get rid of those speakers and go with the no speaker grill retro ones like on the Tommy Bahama.

Getting back to wood...., Love to see AS switch the Classic to the Mid Century Modern walnut look. I will be in the market for one soon 👌

The Service guy wasn't descriptive if all meant all or just the cherry, or cherry like wood w/ Cherry finish, in our Classic.

Hi

Somewhere around here there is a thread on what wood is actually what. In some cases you get a hardwood that is stained to look like another hardwood. That's the case with my "Chestnut" woodwork.

...and, even for a temporary fix, I guess they couldn't match the color any better?

The oak in my Classic has no cracks that I have noticed. I had seen that in household cabinets. I asked an Amish wood craftsman about it and he said i was not kiln dried enough before working. That the heat in the homes makes the air so dry that it must be thoroughly kiln dried. I ordered the oak because my last trailer had real dark wood and it made the trailer too dark. I still like the oak with its brightness.
