Polk radio

So for us with the new Classic with the Polk PA450UM radio in it. I contacted Polk who said they do not build it and only put their name on it. SO with that you have to contact ASA electronics (877-305-0445). Very helpful people. Since the speaker placement is BAD I asked about using Bluetooth speakers on it. Also the ASA people could not believe what Airstream did with the speaker placement. If you want to do Bluetooth you will have to go to the amp and install aan additional and to run a Bluetooth sender. It can be done if you want to spend the $$$ and take up more cabinet space. Just to let you all know. I did download and copy a great operation manual and installation guide from ASA. So for now will have to enjoy music to loud to sit under or not loud enough to hear when cooking

The speaker placement is the same in the 25 Flying cloud. I have he same problem as you with the volume. I have rubbish hearing so when I cook my wife gets deafened!

Not sure there is really a good solution.

I have a Classic, 2016 and have this system. Not thrilled but mine seems to work ok. I did use a bluetooth adaptor in the bedroom to get the sound to come out of the bedroom speakers when watching TV in the bedroom only.

Talked to a person who made sound rooms and he told me about a fix. He said since the speakers are 4ohm you can replace them with 8ohm speakers and double the amount you have without hurting the amp. Have looked and there is a lot of room to put a speaker into the front of the cabinet. Now all I need to do is find the money to replace the front 2 and buy 2 more.

What would be the gain of putting in 8ohm speakers? I was playing around last night and am having the same issues as others. I need to turn on the TV speakers just so I don't have to have the Polk speakers blasting.

Two 8 ohm speakers can replace each 4 ohm speaker doubling the total number of speakers and allowing the additional speakers to be added in new locations pointing in new directions without changing the radio. Each speaker would produce less sound, but overall sound could be distrusted better.

Has anyone used the preamp outputs to feed a simple BT transmitter? This could feed a portable wireless speaker (I've been happy with Libratone) that you could carry into kitchen/dinette or outside around the campfire. What I don't know until I get my trailer, is if the preamp outputs can be controlled separately.

Yes, to try it out I deliberately bought a cheap $23 BT transmitter from Amazon (HomeSpot Dual Stream) and connected it to the spare (rear) preamp outputs. We have one of those Bose BT speakers and I'm able to bring it outside up to about 20 to 25 feet from trailer. Isn't great for inside trailer because there's an inherent delay causing an echo effect. Outside is fine. I saw more capable transmitters on Amazon with a greater range. I may upgrade in time, but this works.

On my trailer, the front pre-amp output is already used to feed the subwoofer, I believe. As I say, the ones I used are the rear pre-amp so the control I have is limited to the fader.

Polk radio

^ they do make BT transmitters that are marketed as no delay/low latency ....that may be worth considering for sync issues for inside usage. Also, since the rears are powered already, perhaps a separate speaker level volume control might make sense so that you don't have to have the inside speakers playing while you use the portable outside speaker. For instance, my wife and I might be sitting around the fire while my son is inside sleeping.....we wouldn't want the speakers going inside.
