Picked up my new 2016 Classic earlier this week.

I've been reading these forums for the last few weeks in preparation for picking up my Classic and then immediately moving into it full-time. Now that I'm settled in, I figured it was time to say hello.

I got a bit spoiled over the past two nights (had a full hookup at Colonial Airstream the first night and the same at a campground near Baltimore the second night). Tonight's my first night without any external connections -- I'm parked behind my office here in Northern Virginia and trying to conserve as much battery power as I can.

That being said, I'm guessing batteries are going to be the first upgrade to the trailer. I disconnected from my truck around 3p ET and, with nothing but the fridge running, the built-in solar system is showing that the batteries are at 65% at nearly 8p ET.

Anyway, just wanted to say hello. If you see an Airstream in Loudoun County / Fairfax County, Virginia, come over and say hello.

Welcome. What an exciting adventure and lifestyle you have chosen. Well done!

Yes, batteries (and a new charger/converter most likely) will be wonderful upgrades. Having stated that, your existing batteries should not be that low so quickly. Something is amiss. Either they weren't fully charged or perhaps the batteries themselves have been sitting too long and were not properly taken care of. If you post more info folks might be able to help you out with your existing batteries.

Have fun!

Congratulations!!

You've finally arrived and then the real fun begins when you take your family or friends on a road trip.
I've got a fully "frame-up" restored 1936 (yes, 1 36) 19 foot single axle and last summer my family and I drove from Reno NV, through Montana, Glacier Park, Yellowstone and other great places all the way to Lake Louise Canada. Not one problem. We run a single battery; however, my terrific son in law bought an inexpensive solar panel that kept the battery always fully charged.
never needed to hook up my little charger.
You are going to have a great great time. If you can find it, get Wally Byams' book written in the 1960's about his caravan trips to Mexico, then Europe, and eventually Africa !!! very interesting.

pulsing give us an update on how you are doing with your Classic. We picked ours up at about the same time but have only been out in it twice. We can't wait to get out again!

Quick update: this week is just about exactly 4 months since I moved into the 2016 Classic full-time. It's. Been. Amazing.

I'll write a more detailed blogpost about it soon but, if you're so inclined, you can follow along for a few pictures with these links:

* Instagram
* Snapchat

Sneak preview: Marv of Precision RV just finished up installing 900W of solar, 600ah of lithiums and a Magnum Hybrid inverter last week. I wish Airstream would've offered this from the factory -- it's perfect.

Nice! I am wanting a similar electrics setup. Would you mind saying how much that all ran you?
