New 2017 Airstream Classic 33 Queen

I know other threads on this topic have been deleted as Airstream had not yet authorized their release, but a legit dealer (here in Columbus, Ohio) has posted some of their own photos of a new 33, so I hope it's okay to post here:

Genie is now out of the bottle. Is it still a dual Axle or like the the 34 a triple?

My understanding is it's double. Finish is the same as our 2017 Classic, but I really like the big TV and rear bath.

Thanks for posting.

Seems pretty silly to put the trailer on display if they don't want any information out there about it.

That rear bath takes up quite a bit of prime real estate!

Looks nice. A good option for those who like the classic look and like a large bathroom area.

Two immediate issues I see, one I would not care for and the other my wife would not want.

TV seems to be a roll down screen, those are never crystal clear such as one gets with HD and BluRay.

Second, the bathroom is at one end of the unit and the bedroom at the other. Both look nice, but not something the "boss" would want.

I thought they decided in the 70's that rear bath is bad...
I don't like the projection screen TV.
I don't like the bedroom at one end and the bathroom at the opposite end.
That being said, I am still eager to walk through one at a dealer one day.

I love that floor plan, with the closet in the bathroom....makes it easier to get ready, all your stuff is right there Thank You for posting. Who ever designed the floor plan put a lot of thought into it.

Pretty cool. Many people have been asking for a desk. It looks like Airstream is listening. Love the large bathroom too. Separation of areas looks very functional. Sleeping, cooking, living, and bath.

I too like the larger bathroom, especially if the shower is larger as well.

As others have said already, with today's low price, but hight quality HighDef LED TV's, going to projection TV seems like a step backwards.

Otherwise, it is beautiful!

I wonder if you can take the projector outside and put a white sheet on the side of the trailer...

Would Airstream be replacing the 30 ft Classic with this new model, or will the 30 ft and it's different floor plan still be available? We are looking to purchase a new Classic in about a year and definitely prefer the current, rather than this new, floorplan.

They can't possibly get rid of the 30 foot Classic!
That is absolutely the best floor plan ever.

Could that sofa be a recliner?

just not sure the pictures are all of the same unit and it's strange that there are no pictures of the exterior if it was out there for everyone to see and shoot photos of. A projection TV setup seems a little like a custom after market decision and I've not seen these getting popular in the upscale RV's in general - not saying it's not real but it will be cool to hear more about it if it's real ...

Fancy, smancy, 30' 95-04 with street side bath compartment was the best ever, large closet, real gas oven, lots of cabinet storage. Mine was totaled by rear ender.
They are hard to find on the resale market. Others must ageee and keep them

Billstream, welcome. The couch you see is probably the same one in our 2017 Classic. The foot rest goes up, but the back does not move. Comfortable, but not as much as a real recliner.

Some problems I see with the new layout:

1. The best views are blocked out back by a lavatory that comparatively speaking, little time is spent in.
2. The bedroom is right by the entrance door.
3. Via the entrance door, you walk into a large wall on the right and looking right at the refrigerator. On the 30 classic, you are greeted by a relatively large and welcoming living area.
4. The desk seems kinda small, like an afterthought.
5. Front projectors are out. Would have been a MUCH better idea to put a 4K flat-screen TV that rises up and down electronically at the back of the desk.
6. Projectors make noise (fans) and put out heat. This is literally right above your head.
7. The windows behind the couch are tiny. 30 Classic has much larger windows/light in the living area.
8. Looks like the shades are still manual. Someone had mentioned they may be electric which would be a large step forward. Not the case.
9. Dinette has one window. 30 Classic has two.
10. Shower is nice and big. Bad - no seat.
11. Shower is using interior aluminum wall as an interior shower wall. Bead of caulk sealing aluminum trailer wall to interior shower wall. With the vibrations/flexing of going down the road, this caulk seem will be a maintenance nightmare.
12. A proper draining sink is nice, unlike the current flat bottom 30 Classic sink that looks great but is flawed in design.

The current 30 Classic layout is so good, there isn't really much they could do. This can be seen with this 33 layout which is quite a step backwards in my opinion. Having the front and rear of a trailer for living and sleeping with both ends having panoramic views, with the storage and shower/lavatory mid-ships simply cannot be beat. I don't expect this 33 Classic to fly off the lots.
