Gas struts on Queen bed

We added a 2” tempurpedic topper to the Queen bed in our 2018 Classic. Now when we access the storage under the bed, the gas struts will NOT hold the bed up. Never a problem with or 2016 International.

Anyone else had this as an issue? Any solutions, maybe stronger gas struts?

Chuck

Sorry you haven’t had any other responses. I just have the twin so whole other set up but I didn’t have any problems when I added my topper to the mattress. Of course the queen is much bigger and heavier.

Thanks. I’m guessing with the Classic’s bed frame and topper it might just be too much weight.

I’ll have to explore other strut options.

Thanks.

Chuck.

Mine is marginal, at best with a topper and electric mattress pad. I fully expect to need a 5 pound higher rating pair soon.

Yes you can put in stronger struts of the same size and configuration. I had 90# shocks on my queen replaced them with 100#. Could have even gone a bit higher. There is a model number on the strut. If you google it you will find several brands.

Thanks. Just what I needed. Will look for the part number and find stronger replacements.

Thanks.

Last time I needed gas struts, I took the number off the side, plugged it into Amazon and amazingly, came up with exact replacements.
