Fuse box

Does anyone have a drawing of how the fuse box is wired or what are the two 30 amp fuses for/do. Both of mine were shorted out. Replaced them and didn't blow. Only problem I have/had is that the batteries were not getting charged

Don't think Parallax provides a drawing for the 5355 power center. However they do provide a website that answers your question.

http://www.parallaxpower.com/faqs

This is Parallax's answer to your question:

A: These fuses protect the converter from damage in the event of a reverse polarity scenario. In the event the battery or batteries are connected backwards, the two 30A ATC fuses will blow to protect the converter. Before replacing a converter suspected of being inoperative, always check these fuses first! These are standard automotive type 30 amp fuses.

Thanks. I guess the fuses got shorted when they were replacing my front damaged panels at the factory

The two 30 amp fuses that are by themselves are there to prevent damage to the converter when the batteries are connected backwards.

Has anyone changed their convertor/charger out yet. I had a pinging noise from under the couch that has stopped and now the batteries are not charging. Thinking about putting in a 4 stage unit but still wondering about the pinging noise. Mother ship said that the noise was not a problem

Fuses are good. Funny thing is the pinging noise from under the couch started pinging again after almost a full day of quiet and now the batteries are charging. Anyone know what the heck is going on?

Upgraded my converter/charger today. Took me little over 2 hours. Dealer wanted $300.00 labor. It was not that hard. Good instrctions come with the replacement.
