Great! Good luck with your Alde upgrade you'll love the results. Also ask Spencer to install the outside temp probe.

Have you done your upgrade yet? I’m heading to see Spencer tomorrow for warranty work. I’m seriously considering the upgrade since I have old 3010 in 2018 Classic. If you have upgraded how did they handle the firefly panel

Yes they have to replace the panel and wiring. Spencer has a tool that helps thread the new cable from the 3020 to the new panel.

First of all thank you Sparr for the heads up on this upgrade.
My appointment was for 7:30 this morning and it was complete by 4:15, thank you to Spencer and all your staff for a wonderful, professional experience.
Showering in our Airstream had always been less than satisfying, water pressure set at 50 psi to get decent water pressure, 5-8 minute showers, shutting off water after wetting down, sudsing then rinsing, while hosing off shower enclosure water temperature is now cold. More than a couple of times had cold water rinses off's, not good!
Tonight ran shower for a total of 21 minutes, I timed it, non stop not shutting off water with no decrease in water temperature until very near the end when it went from hot to temperate.
I am very impressed with this upgrade and would recommend it.

Using gas, electric high and boost the water temp never dropped below 104 and after 30 minutes I stopped timing. GREAT system.

I forgot to mention I was on electric only, probably would have lasted longer if I had propane on too.
I am now happy with the performance of the system.

That is so good to hear that the 3020 has really come through with this issue. I'm looking forward to trying mine out in about a month.

Right now my Classic is just a twinkle in someone's eye!

Thank you both for posting your experiences and for posting the results, those are some impressive numbers. I wish Spencer and the folks at Alde USA would share their information with the rest of the Classic owners. I know there are many that have the 3020 with Flow and still are getting only 8-10 minuets of hot water. I remember reading that the upgraded 3020 was supposed to get unlimited hot water but know of only 2 Classic owners have gotten those results and both had to go the Alde headquarters to get it done. Why isn’t AS setting the 3020 up like the Alde guys are doing?

It was over a year ago that I started talking w/Spence on a 3020 up grade to our 2017 Classic, took ownership 01.2017.

I spent great amounts of time reading ALDE thread and researching ADLE 3020 and cost for up grade. It appeared no one was going to give a hard number for the up grade other than materials. What I was seeing was between 4k & 6k for a complete system installed.

A year and 1/2 later, after making all the adjustments to our 3010 system, glad we did not spend the monies for the up grade. Our 3010 produces all the hot water we ask of it.

Safe travels and best regards................

Scott - Iím not sure where you got the $4000 to $6000 but the conversion is between $2000 and $3000 for a 2017 Classic. For the correct pricing I would contact Alde US and ask to speak with Spencer at 360-597-3017

Yes, the $4K-$6k quoted is way high, our total upgrade cost including parts and labor was $2,225.45. If you already have the Alde Flow, we did not, it could be less. Check with Spencer for your actual cost.
Right now heading down the cold, wet and beautiful Hwy 101 and enjoying our upgraded heating system.

I'll sell mine before spending another $2,000 - $6,000 on a new system.

When we started to look into up grade, I spoke several times w/Spencer at ALDE NW. ALDE NW was not doing the conversions/up grades at this time. However they were selling the materials. The material costs were under 2k. The price to install came from the dealer where we bought our Classic. We love our Classic, however it will never be going back to this dealer if we can help it.

We just got back from 2 weeks down Wa. & OR. 101. We had all the hot water we asked of our 3010 ALDE system. Again after I did all the tweeks required to make this happen.

Safe Travels and best regards..................

NordSailOne - How about an update on your new Alde system. Ours cannot be better, just like taking a shower at home. With the cost of the upgrade and travel to Alde it's still cheaper than trading ours in on a new classic.

Just got back Saturday night from a great two month trip to the PNW.
Did the upgrade on August 23rd, night and day difference in the water heating department. Never have run out of really hot water since. Prior to upgrade the tail end of the quick shower was always luke warm and a couple of times cold!
Well worth the cost to us.

When we bought our 2017 AS Classic, the hope/thought, this would be our last AS.

After our 1st cost(s) estimate from our dealer 8 months back for the up grade to 3020 system. We were not going to do the up grade. However after reading ALDE/Vancouver having done a couple and posts on this thread. We gave Spencer a call to do the up grade. Stock market has been good to us these past months...................
