Deadbolt

Has anyone tried to take to inside knob off of deadbolt so you can unscrew and remove cover? Deadbolt is sticking and seems like in a bind. Would like to remove cover and lube. Is locking knob just a friction fit and can be pried off. Click image for larger version

I haven’t had that problem with mine but I bet someone else has and will post instructions soon. I know I wasn’t helpful at all but I see several other people glanced at you post but didn’t reply so I wanted to let you know that at least I read it.

Freeing Up Deadbolt

You may be able to free it up without removing the mechanism. We had the same problem. Use your finger and try and pry the slide towards the inside of the door. Mine clicked back into the track it slides in and works fine now.

I can’t remember for sure but I think if you remove the two screws the whole handle assembly comes off with the black cover.
