CZone 2019 Classic

We received some messages from CZone system today while sitting stationary plugged into shore power.

One was:

DC Low Voltage

Second was:

DC Load Shed

CZone said on panel that that the trailer was not connected to shore power.

I think the DC load shed was going to turn off non-essential DC items.

We were running Alde shower boost, fridge, lights, fan - all normal activities running a 50 amp trailer on a 30 amp connection.

CZone said at the time the batteries were at 12.6.

We did a complete disconnect from the battery and now the batteries are back up to 13.8.

So my question is what is going on?

Does the CZone panel ever show that shore power is connected? I don’t think mine has ever indicated that, even now after a hard reboot. But the A/C wouldn’t be working now if we were not on shore power.

Is this a power issue or a CZone issue? Maybe a converter issue?

Thoughts? Just trying to understand the issue so I can figure out what needs to be done to resolve it and keep it happening again.

Your panel as well as your app should show whether shore power is connected. It should show on the same "favorites" page as the LP and water tank levels. Blue is connected, grey is not. If you are not seeing that you might want support to look at that.

I get the DC load Shed Low error also. Usually, it is when batteries get to 12.3v. I also get the "DC low voltage" message after the first message.

This is what my monitor page looks like despite the fact that we are plugged into shore power.

You definately have a problem. One of the CZone inputs on the COI senses that. I doubt the COI is bad so my guess is that the interface between shore power and the input is bad or you have a loose wire between the interface and shore power and/or the COI. This is certainly a warranty issue.

The low voltage warnings are also a concern if you are connected as the converter should be charging batteries.

Don't discount the COI having a problem. Mine seems to be kaput. None of the data is flowing through the COI, can't turn any of the items on or off. At one point it was reporting a short to the awning lights. That went away when all of the monitoring lights on the COI no longer came on but that was good because the panels quit flashing.

Spent half a day yesterday checking connections on the NEMA backbone. Few loose but only a turn to snug them up. Found loose power connections on the COI and the bus bar behind it.

Did trouble shooting with AS this morning and have an appointment with a dealer Friday so that we can get a replacement on order.

Thank goodness everything else is working. You can manually use any of the 16 control circuits by moving the fuse for that circuit to the other side of the fuse block. That manually closes the circuit.

This started on Sunday driving into Kansas City when the app started saying that I needed to turn on the battery with the disconnect. So I have lost the use of the app.

AS, Mike Lemmon was helpful on walking through all of the items I had already checked. Also reviewing what the panel was showing. Gremlins are the worst type of electrical issue to track down.

I just had this issue with “no shore power.” After panicking I figured out I had a tripped circuit breaker. Reset it and good to go.

My "shore power" button on the c-zone is greyed out. The dealer checked with AS and was told the button is not supposed to function. Does your? Thanks.

The 'button' for shore power on the screen is blue with shore power and grey when shore power is not connected. You can not switch shore power on and off since there is no power switching mechanism in the trailer.

If it is grey with power applied there is an issue with the CZone sensing and should be fixed under warranty.

Mine shore power has never been blue while on shore power. And I am talking with AS customer support about that and some other issues we are having with CZone. I was never told that it was functioning normally. We have decided to make an appt with Jackson Center to trouble shoot this. I had just got most of my Firefly working on my 2018 after having a 2018 with the first Firefly only to be replaced with CZone. Sometimes I think I liked Firefly better. At least you could read the buttons.

AJ, I just checked mine again. I am on the Favorite screen for onboard and with power on the power button is blue. Turning power off at the pole it changes to grey/no blue color.

CZone Shore Power Indicator Fixed

My shore power indicator hadn't been working either. The dealer checked the wiring on the relay against the schematic and found the issue to be that no neutral wire had been run to the relay.

They installed the wire and everything is working work perfectly.

I ran into the same issue with my 2019 Classic....Alarms going off every few minutes. It became quite a issue at night with the alarm going off. I had the dealer check it out and they had to rewire parts of it. They told me it wasn't the batteries or any real issue, just a problem with how it was wired originally. The service manager said he contacted Airstream for the solution.....It's working very good now. You should have the dealer take a look at the next opportunity.

We have scheduled a run out to Jackson Center to get all of our issues dealt with within the 1 year warranty period. CZone and Smart Connect are both on the list for work to be done.

Just to update this thread, I seemed to have found a solution for the "load shed" and "DC low voltage" errors on the Czone panel. I was having issue when I turned on several things like tank heaters, main ceiling lights, and other electrical devices with heavy draw, it would show my voltage dropping to under 11.05 v. and would throw those voltage errors.

Under the clothes cabinet is the Czone main switch controller. Remove the two screws holding it down and pull it out so you can get to the red and white wire on the right side. This is where the 12v power enters the panel. You have to pull off the clear panel which covers the middle part of the switch.

As we were troubleshooting my issue with these errors, Mike at Airstream service asked me to check if those connections were loose. They were not. We moved on and I was resigned to the fact we would be taking it in. Those two errors mean the Czone is having problems with recognizing correct power.

After I got off the phone with Mike, I decided to take the connections completely off, clean them, and put them back on. You do not have to disconnect the solar power when doing this. It is all low voltage. When I finished, my voltage matched my Victron battery sense, something it has never done before. SO . . . . if you are having problems with your voltage not matching what the victron panel says, or you are getting "low DC voltage" errors, clean your terminals on the Czone switch and re-tighten!

I too am having CZone issues. Started by randomly shutting down for about 15 minutes then coming back on. It did this sporadically for about a month then quit completely. I called dealers and AS customer support and no one has a clue never heard of this. I asked if there is a way to bypass so I could have a waterpump and heaters and everyone said there was nothing I could do. I find out today through this forum that I can bypass at least enough to limp by until I can get into the dealership next week. Thank you all for your information it has been this best I have gotten so far.

I have seen conflicting information that Czone warrants their equipment for 2 years. Has anyone dealt with AS on this?
