Hey, BAB, speaking of shower doors, the service guy at SLC AS, yesterday said he makes a small spacer ring from a plastic cutting board and lifts the door a smidge to keep the gasket from shredding.

Thanks, James.
I modified my windows yesterday per Ron's idea. Works well, but I got longer screws as they did not quite hold the valance in tight being 1/4" out from the wall due to the spacers.

Thanks James, Bud, Ron and Bab. I haven't had any problems with my shades yet but I am wondering if I should just go ahead and make the adjustments while I am stationary and near a Home Depot. So my question is....how long does the "fix" take and/or should I wait until I have a problem?

L.J.K - I have only had a problem with the one window. I modified them all except the two at either end as those have worked "perfectly" since day one. Fix for all the windows took about 1/2 an hour. I have not glued the ends yet, but now that it's going to be warm for a couple of days I am going to use "Gorilla" glue and get at it.
I would go ahead and do them now, I have. Take one of the small silver screws with you to HD and tell them you need same scew 1/4" longer.
Bud

I removed all the metal support arms that hold the glass and trimmed 1/4 inch off the metal end where the plastic knob slides on. That gave me the clearance for the shades to slide up and down. But made it hard to lock the window in the most top position. Took a sander to the plastic knobs and rounded the end closest to the window. Now mine works great. Going to machine some aluminum knurled knobs with set screws I will take pics!

On the bottom of the shades the metal track that holds the shades to the valance there is a clear plastic piece about 3/4" long. It can be moved to adjust the tension on the shades. Each shade in our unit has one of these and I've adjusted them so all the shades move pretty easily.

You have a pic I'm not finding that adjustment.

Post # 15, last picture. The slide is on outboard side of the base rail.

Bougeois, when was your trailer made. I was told by OceanAir that Airstream did not want the adjustment at first and therefore, some of the earlier builds of the 2017 did not have the adjustment.

The adjusters should be there. The units without were very early production units.
