Transferred everything from the Tommy Bahama to the Classic today. It’s amazing how much you can pack into an airstream. Took us almost 3 hours to move and reorganize everything.
Next up, we swapped the bedding out. We weren’t fans of the default airstream bedding. If anyone want a spare set PM me with an offer, it’s new never used.
Here’s the final result in the bedroom.

Very nice indeed. Glamping in spades. Appropriate for your Classic. And much better than my old sleeping bag I use.

we’re wierd that way. We love to “camp” in “style” as much as possible. We carry fine china and crystal ware that we use around the camp fire. We love the irony of it all.

Classic 33 on order
I’ve been known to backpack fine crystal wine glasses into the deep boonies just to make a point around the campfire...the shocked expressions on the others faces was so worth the effort.
And yes, I did choose a fine wine that paired well with our dehydrated Beef Stroganoff dinner entree.

Took the new AS for a shakedown trip. No problems to report. We hear so much about failed builds just wanted to report that some/many are good. I’m sure i will encounter some issues. Will deal with those as they come.

Which dealer did you purchase from?
We have gone back and forth on 30 vs 33, but are now ready to order a 33. Our dealer said the factory won’t let us switch up the interior colors, i.e., light counters must be with dark furniture. We really like your combination. Which dealer did you purchase your 33 from?

Airstream of Scottsdale. That’s not true on having to get it as is. I’ve seen almost every color combo at th Scottsdale dealer. Give them a call if that’s a reasonable alternative. Ask for Brian Knox. Btw, which dealer told you that?

Thank you! Just signed papers for a 2019 Airstream Classic 33 at the Tarrant County RV Show! We were able to order your color combination, and were happy with the price. We’ve been talking with Airstream of DFW over the past year and they came through for us. Very excited!

The one-year anniversary of full-timing (9 months) in my Classic 33 is next month and what a life-changing experience it's been. New skills, independence, adventures, life-long friends, ah-ha moments, and best of all I look forward to going home. Were there issues that needed to be dealt with after the first shake-down trip? Yes. Every single item on my punch list was repaired or replaced and I have had no further issues. I came close to selling (job relocation), but decided giving up the quality of life I enjoy with my Airstream would be a mistake. I love my giant shower, the touchpad read-outs, radiant heat, gaming on my screen projector TV screen, the nightshades that drop at the touch of a button, the power lift on the very comfortable bed, my "office" counter, the challenge of successfully cooking dinner for 4+ guests, and being warm and safe in my silver cocoon while the rain pounds down and the wind blows. I could go on, but I think I've made my satisfaction pretty clear.
I have enjoyed the hunt for the perfect shower squeegee, shower drain strainer, no-drill hooks, boot pan, sheets (bamboo!), in-closet shoe rack, the Joy hanger system, and of course, giving tours. What Airstream owner doesn't? To the new owners, hooray! When you get your new AS, be curious. Read your manual, pull off covers (have tools handy and be careful), don't be shy about striking up chats with other RV owners, buy stuff like rugs, kitchen towel racks that hook on the cabinet doors, and every now and then, just lay back in bed and admire your gorgeous Airstream.

So first issue encountered. Went to install the shelves in the medicine cabinet, and discovered that the metal L shaped pegs they pepvide are too long for the depth of hole they drilled. Options are to drill the holes deeper, grind the metal pegs down 2 to 3 mm, or find new pegs.
Has anyone else run into this, how did you solve it?

My wife really likes the bedspreads on your twin beds. Do you know where they were purchased?

We bought all of the bedding at Restoration Hardware Teen. With the twin beds we found we have to look in child and teen sources to find stuff that fits correctly.
We mixed and matched a couple different bedding collections. There are also more bedding collections under boys, this stuff was under girls but we liked it more for our tastes.

Trepine / Classic Rick
Any issues you'd like to report to the forum? thinking about changing from a DP to a Classic 33 (2020)?
Cheers,
Mick
